If I remember correctly he mentioned it probably won’t be the typical zmf ‘made to order’ but rather they will be made beforehand and put on the site to be purchased as is.
I imagine there will be a sonic difference. Wonder what that will be like.

Raytheon 6080WB tubes arrived today. They sound excellent. I was surprised by what great shape they were in. The seller found 2x 500 count boxes in a storage locker near Port Hueneme, California.
Wow, that is some nice wood!!!
Those are beautiful. You lucked out on the figuring in the wood. Certainly not every Verite they sell has that sort of amazing grain.
How do they sound? From everything I’ve read Verites actually do need a long break in. My new VO’s are at 36 hours break in…and sadly only like 2 hours on my head!!!
Zach commented on that in one of the live streams. He mentioned that when he chooses a standard wood for various models, he does so with a sort of maximum resonance target so that any LTD woods he choose will have less resonance than that. As I recall, the stabilized sets don’t have the pores that other woods do (because they’re filled), so they tend to behave like denser hardwoods with little resonance.
Since I only have the one VC and barely any time on it, I can’t really comment to that, but I can say that my set sounds fantastic and has pretty rapid decay with little resonance. It doesn’t diminish the sense of spaciousness at all when a track counts for it, and seems to play well with the sense of speed from the driver.
I was able to choose these earcups from several sets. Originally I went in wanting purple, but this set caught my eye and wouldn’t let go. I love how the cup is exotic with a heart of natural wood. Reminds me of the VC itself with the marriage of very down-to-earth wood with exotic Beryllium coared PET drivers to make the magic happen. And that cool black outline that almost looks like cel shading, lol.
I posted a few impressions over on the VC thread. Short version is that they defy their closed-back nature and have sounded amazing with everything I’ve played, unlike Eikons which I love for certain music types (vocals, acoustic genres), but aren’t my first pick for everything.
Just ordered an Asgard 3 with dac card, after months of torturing myself over what to get. Finally forced to pull the trigger by the failure of my current dac/amp combo.
I’m really looking forward to this. And I’m really hoping I find that, yeah, there really is a difference after all between my super-budget amp and something that’s considered significantly higher up the chain.
Interested to hear your thoughts between this and the BF2.
Yeah ditto. Curious to see where the two end up fitting in. Thanks man.
Picked up this little guy today. Wanted to play with it and probably use it for speakers when I get a good pair.
More storage for music files.
Wow, you are building a Very nice collection!
Thanks Shane! Getting there lol pretty rewarding hobby
Please report back on the differences between your DAC’s.
I and probably Many others here are looking/have looked at both of those with much lust.
Yup will do for sure
Nice!!!
I was very surprised of the way it enhanced the sound; there was a very clear difference from my other dac’s, so I hope it is a enjoyable for you.
I can already agree with this. It’s doing things that set it apart from the bifrost. Not saying better or worse but they are definitely different.
Glad you’re enjoying yours
Cant wait for my Mangird Tea and Fiio Fh3,god i hate this forum lmao
