What did you buy today? (Part 1)

I get that it’s a speaker amp, but I do still enjoy it’s headphone out. Besides, I wanted to see how it handled the 990s

I think those look pretty sweet, like metallic jelly beans.

More importantly, Happy Birthday! :birthday::gift::tada::balloon:

Cheers!

Yep. Except for doing the AB of the two speakers… Kinda killed the iLouds…

So before I purchased the Behringer a800s, I purchased an SMSL sa300

, it finally arrived today after sitting at an airport in China for a month image Sadly they fixed the eq, it now says rock and not rcok like zeos one he reviewed image
With the amp means I was able to setup my pb1000 for the first time to use it

The sub is a monster! Listening to Heilung and it just hammers. Still waiting on Behringers a800s to arrive but that wont be till the end of this month, will order the minidsp HD on payday, everything is coming together.

T1000 model specifically…

Nothing audio related in this post:

Small (as in palm sized) Vise

Fan, fan grill, connectors

Cable, connectors, switches, capacitors, resistors, more connectors, LEDs

Work Gloves, Coal Filters

Edit: Forgot these two, chunky switch and power cable.

Is all that stuff for a particular project you have in mind?

The vise is because I do a lot of small work and third-hands are never rigid enough.

The fan and stuff is to fix the cooling situation in my DIY audio rack.

The LEDs and related is to build some LED bars to replace the bodge-work lighting I have going right now.

Filters are for my DIY solder fume extractor, cable and switch are to fix my sisters nightstand lamp (touch dimmer broke and the casing is not earthed).

The adapter cable I made:
Lets me use a cheapy Tamyia-Style battery charger or a bench PSU to power a fan, or monitor fan voltage with a multimeter when hooked between Mainboard and fan.

Nice! How are you liking them so far?

It’s a really nice cable, for the price the build and sound quality is a pretty great value. it’s a little stiff (not terrible) at the moment but i assume that’s due to the tight braid and should soften up with time and use. So far I would recommend this to anyone who might want to go a little higher end than the sub $100 offerings but doesn’t want to breach into ridiculous money territory on a cable purchase.

Also even though it came from the UK, the shipping was free and from time of order to delivery only took around 3 weeks which i consider to be pretty reasonable for a custom shop on the other side of the pond. For comparison my Forza cable came from Poland and I had to pay $55 shipping and still took about the same amount of time to get to me.

Yeah, they’re pretty quick. My issues with delays were all on USPS’ part.

I agree with you on build. Interestingly I have a Sforza cable here, and I prefer the build of the Oidio.

Cheers!

Which forza cable do you have? I have a Noir Hybrid HPC and i really love how it feels and sounds, just ridiculously soft and supple, very flexible, also i’m a big fan of the bigger braid on this cable over the oidio. I have not tried any of the non sleeved forza cables unfortunately.

Not sure. Some online it to me to try with my Clears. It’s a transparent copper braided cable. The connectors are okay, I just prefer the feel and finish of the Oidio.

I ordered one for my clear a couple of weeks ago.
