Great choice!
You are going to love it
Thereās no switch, should be automatic, to can only change modes (d2p or something). Donāt get the link light in the Xduoo with this or other usb c cable to the M9, every other device switches the light on in my Xduoo right away⦠Starting to believe thereās something wrong with the dap port. It charges ok but is a bit looseā¦
Fiio can be a little iffy with otg cables, I had issues with my m6 connecting through USB with 3rd party cables. Worked fine with the official fiio otg tho
And the funny thing is that the player plays the song when should stop if thereās no output.
R-51m and nobsound 50wpc Bluetooth amp for my mom. Though I got the speakers over a year ago. Been in the box until today.
Beyerdynamic does that at times, yep.
The replacement xDuoo TA-10 came in, and no issues so far! XD
Tried balanced vs single ended with my 4XX and HAC, and I donāt notice a difference yet⦠Havenāt had it but about 2.5 hours, but weāll see if I pick up on it.
I know people say burn in for a tube is a thing⦠My question is, does it work like burn in for a headphone, or is the difference, well⦠Different?
If itās a new tube I wouldnāt worry about it, just listen to the amp.
If itās NOS, and you care then just leave it on for a day or two.
Yes they burn in, but itās not going to be a radical change in most cases.
Whatās the difference between a new tube and a NOS tube?
New as in new modern production, so recently made. New Old Stock tubes are vintage tubes that are in a like new or new state but made a while ago. Typically people feel that NOS tubes provide better quality then new production since newer production is more rare and standards have dropped vs when tubes were actively being made
Okay, so NOS is viewed, typically, as preferable (like vinyl and older recordings of songs), since standards (and thus the quality of the product) where higher at time of production. Am I getting that about right?
Yes very correct. Older pressings of vinyl are typically higher quality than modern pressings. The recordings of songs part depends
Anything one should be aware of or keep in mind when shopping for NOS tubes?
Iām not the best person to ask for this, perhaps @Polygonhell or @Schizoid could help (as they know a fair bit about tubes lol)
I just wouldnāt go overboarsd.
A lot of modern Valves are actually pretty good, some of the preference is snobishness TBH.
Personally I donāt like rolling tubes, itās expensive and in a lot of cases has questionable value, a lot of what people perceive is the difference and is often not ābetterā per se.
If you want to try it get a recommendation, buy them try them for a week or two then swap them back, if the amp really does sound worse when you do then maybe it was worthwhile.
In your case you could easily spend more than the value of the amp on a single tube, it simply isnāt worth it.
Was just doing a little looking on eBay, and noticed some where rather cheep:
But eBay can be⦠Treacherous.
Just got this headphone!
Hifiman Arya. Joshua Valor says its the best headphone heās ever heard. Its gotten critical acclaim from all over. i cant wait to hear it. its supposed to be W shaped. my favorite signature. Its listed for 1600$ Got it for 1100$ from a guy on Ebay who says he only had used it 30 hours. Cant wait to hear it!
That is spectacularly well said.
Ebay is mostly fine for tubes TA10 is a single tube right, then itās not a bad place to play, and 12AU7ās arenāt silly expensive, and you donāt have to worry about matched pairs or quads.
I tend to buy tubes from places I can return them to, itās easy to get one that has a hum, or is particularly bad microphonics, but Iām buying in much larger quantities that you would be.
As I said give it a try, my personal experience with rolling tubes was as follows
- put new tube in
- Wow that sounds different
- Listen for a while
- Repeat from 1
eventually you swap the original tube back in and itās Wow that sounds different.
Iāve bought from here, these are their 12au7 alternatives
