purplehearts are my go to out of the listening devices i have.Really like them, I would suggest a pad change. The stock ones arent unbearable but i really like the improvement in sound and comfort from the zmf eikon pads

Did you try the Ori beforehand? I bought the Ori’s for a Lawton mod (still waiting for my Cups to ship), but I’m thinking of picking up the Eikon’s in suede.

I have not. My PH actually came with the Protein Eikons and i’ve been using them at the sellers recommendation. My main problem with the stock fostex was they were a little too shallow. What do you think of the Ori’s?

They’re sitting in the box. 
I’ll be using a TH-610, but I haven’t gotten around to ordering it since my cups are still about three weeks out (they’re in the curing process).
They’re super plush, similar to Audeze’s Lambskin. I also ordered a Pilot Pad in Lambskin.
The reason why I’m interested in the Eikon pads is because they’re slightly larger than the Ori’s. I have big ears. I actually placed the Ori’s over my ears just to check fit. They seemed fine, but that’s without being mounted to a headphone.

My ears fall on the larger side as well, looking at the site they look pretty similar to the eikons. I can say there is a pretty decent amount of clearance between my ear and the driver with the eikon and if it were slightly smaller i don’t think i’d have any comfort issues like i did with the stock pad.

Decided it was time to try a different headphone other than my HD58X’s. I am going to try a set of planar’s and ordered the Sundara’s. This should give me a bit of diversity in headphones.

Yes it was a bit of restraint… I have the money to get the Ananda but did not want to spend it all on 1 thing…

Sundara should be a nice headphone and looking at your gear you may be able hear more clearly the differences in your amps have a nice collection there

The eikon pads on th-x00 kill the bass. The ori leathers are the ones you want sound wise.

Good to hear. I was just a little concerned regarding fitment.
They’re super plush, though. As good as the Audeze’s, imo.
The Eikon are bigger in circumference, but the Ori actually has the bigger cavity/opening for your ears. I have larger ears myself, and they fit comfortably.
