Use suede for best bass response.
Have fun with them and happy listening!

Curious to see what you think of both, pretty sweet

I’m hoping they are different enough to justify this. Didn’t expect to win the auction on the Z7 and the fostex… well beer…

Kind of more excited for the purple hearts. They seem like the can be W shaped.

The purple hearts are pretty v shaped, the sonys might be warmer w for you though

Good call on slow minimum on the SU-8 by the way. Not sure what thread that was.

IDK, I have mentioned it a couple times now I think lol

actually i took the plastic-rings out and put some brainwavz xl micro suede pads on

Lol, just curious, do you prefer them over the stock (mainly because I haven’t really found another pad that sounds as good as the stock)?

i did it for comfort or rather fit…
cant really describe it - had some kind of wiggle going on
but with the suede xl pads comfort is absurd (i’m very sensitive with anything touching my ears)

Nice. Personally I find the suede that they come with to be perfect with comfort. But maybe your ears are shaped differently so something else works better.

It took every bit of my self restraint to not buy a 1975 Sansui 9090DB today

Since you are posting here, did you happen to acquire one lol?

No, but I’m still strongly thinking about it… It’s kind of been a wish list item for me, but I don’t need it so I’ve been kind of particular for what price/condition I’d be willing to settle on and today was the closest I’ve come to pulling the trigger

I’m leaning that way. Having that and the Marantz 2325 pretty much covers my vintage unicorn list

It’s not bad. The cosmetic stuff on the wood case I can live with. There are a couple lights that are out (at least one, hard to tell on the 2nd), and he had some of it restored, but it may need more work. If I do get it, I will start looking at some nice vintage speakers down the road. I thought I had a line on some nice Wharfedales, but they sounded like they were shot
