It was a longer than anticipated wait, but my Focal Clears arrived today. So far, I’m really enjoying the sound. I plan to do a lengthy listening session this evening. Neutralish but Fun sound signature, which I’m a total sucker for.
Also, my 6P14P-EV NOS tubes arrived today and currently being burnt in on the Tuba.

I just ordered 2 more goldkabel ouverture beacuse they are amazing. They simply sound much better than my Wireworld cables. Unfortunately Goldkabel replaced it with the worse highline but the bright side is: the discontinued ouverture are currently very “cheap”.

It was more preference and security (I’m not going to go into the ladder). I did like both the shangri la and he90 alot though, I would say the shang preformed better with more modern music whereas the he90 excelled with more traditional music imo, and while I do enjoy lots of older music, I do find that I also listen to a fair bit of more modern music as well, so the shang made more sense to me (also slightly different presentation as well, these are just simplified thoughts). At the moment I do have the he60 and do enjoy it alot, so perhaps I may pick up a he90 in the future if I can find one that I can drive to and listen as I wouldn’t want to buy one online personally (just the headphones only since I already have amps). I don’t have enough experience with the newer he1 (only a few hours) to make a comment on that one though
not sure if i should buy the urbanfun or not because i already have wireless IEMs and dunno if id need a wired one

Goldkabel Ouverture
They sadly got discontinued. highline CINCH MKIII are similar but can’t match the older Ouverture. That’s why I bought 2 more on sale.
My old cable’s are Wireworld Luna 8.
I like the Wireworld connector and low weight more because the Goldkabel stuff will probably destroy cheap pcb mounted RCA jacks.
But the Goldkabel stuff sounds a lot better. I actually was shocked how big the difference was.
I also tried Audioquest Golden Gate and I own some old silver coated solid core Audioquest.
There wasn’t that big of a difference to the famous amazon basic with those entry level cables.
The difference was much more noticeable with my Graham LS6 than with the Harbeth Super HL5.
Speaker cables are some old Naim stuff with a lot of copper inside them.
I actually was able to even hear a difference with just my Rega Elex-R and a Musical Fidelity V90 DAC.
My Audionet SAM liked it even more paired with an OPPO 203.
It affected tonality, treble extensions and smoothness, did something good with the bass impact I can’t really put my finger on and gave the Rega Elex-R a 3D isch soundstage with up and down not only left and right. I only experienced this kind of 3D Soundstage with my 4 times more expensive Audionet bevor. We shouldn’t underestimate the role of the Graham in this equation because they are exceptionally revealing speakers. But this isn’t something you need insane gear for to experience it.

Razer black pbt keycaps aren’t bad at all. Good quality for the price, $30. Hope they come out with gray and some other colors like blue and orange in the future. That razer green will never touch my desk lol.
