What did you buy today? (Part 1)

It was made to be a more portable friendly product I think (being a closed back)

Key caps came in faster than I expected. Have a couple issues with them other wise not bad

Well, the RNHP and its “weak” output power pushes them fine.

The 600-ohm impedance was actually one of the things that pushed me to pick up the T1s. Just one more variable to play with. I know it’s a little apples & oranges, but I have the 177X Go at 32 ohms, the 1990 at 250 and now these at 600. 1990 and T1 at least have the same sensitivity.

Honestly don’t know if I’ll learn anything particularly useful from comparing these, but it is nice to have a high-impedance can in the collection now, just for the sake of one more angle to check out.

Thanks, @M0N. Nice to get a little confirmation of what I’m hearing.

I did run the T1s through my Call of Duty level, and they were similar enough overall to the 1990s that I didn’t really have a preference for one over the other. I felt like the 1990s may have been a little better still for footsteps and details, but not so much so that I want to declare that. Being a story mission, it was full of shooting and score music and whatever else, so it’s not a truly great test for MP prowess.

I’ll have to try the T1s with some more source material that will exercise spatial accuracy. Maybe some less busy tracks. The 1990s had me digging up a bunch of really loud, busy 90s Industrial favorites for that “turn it up to 11” experience. Then the T1s were like, “nope, stops at 9.”

You have the pendant coming correct? The t1 is pretty interesting on a tube lol

Yes! My Verites have entered “Sanding & Finishing,” but I’m still a ways down the list. Probably a couple weeks out yet. But Zach’s making me an Ironwood case for the Pendant, and I picked up his “vintage tubes” bundle, too. Should be lots of fun messing with all of that. I imaging tubes may take over most of my listening for a while.

Once I get the Elex, I will be pretty close to end game … HOPEFULLY?

Just a follow up on the Sony XB910, they’ve got lots of bass (to be expected), but it just sounds so dark and muddy. I’m not one for messing around with EQ, and I avoid it if I can, but these things need some serious EQ to bring out the midrage and treble.

Today I bought the Final Audio E1000. According to Crinacle these sound neutral, and he’s quite impressed by them.

Woohoo! The Asgard 3 came in yesterday.

Early impressions is this was well worth the $200. I’ve been testing it with the Aiva this morning and it gives it a nicer fuller sound compared to the 789, SE.

Just ordered the Cooler master MH752. I have had issues with basically all headphones I have worn in a couple of years, so I’m hoping these comfort kings I can actually wear, otherwise I’ll just give up and buy some Grado’s or something.

You can’t go wrong with the Elex. They’re my all-time fave. Not for everyone, I know, but I think @ShaneD is still in love with his!

I have been on a tear with the Elex’s for the last few days! It turns out that they do sound Great with my tube amp, but the SP200 really brings out the bass on bassy tracks. I can NOT wait to plug them into the Liquid Platimum!

One of my best purchases in this hobby.

PS: Just checked my tracking and my LP arrived in Halifax yesterday. Should have it Monday morning! :+1: :+1:

PPS: Got it! :grinning:
