It has arrived and my god it is nice. I’m yet to properly try it out but from a quick listen it is the best source I have ever owned (easily) and the best source I have tried in recent memory
I’m getting on the serious audio this week. My QP2R arrived mere hours ago so I decided to upgrade my IEMs.
No photos since everyone knows what they look like(and probably has a pair), but I finally bought Porta Pros. I wanted a portable alternative to IEMs with less isolation I could use and abuse, considered some earbuds or KPH30i’s but decided to go with the classics in the end. I was buying them blindly, they’re pretty popular in my country but somehow I never bothered trying them out. I was kinda skeptical, but those really are as good as they say. Not the most “audiophile” set, but a really fun, full sound. Surprising amount of bass too.
I think I’ll be getting some Yaxi pads to see if it’s possible to take them further. I also already started thinking of family members I’ll be giving a pair as a gift… the value can’t be beat.
anyone know how to get super short but high quality RCA cables? for a stack for my turntable setup (i put 2 things on the floor on top of each other)
Schiit sells 6 inch RCA cables, good quality, reasonable prices
i heard from ASR they suck
And what did they recommend?
They’re made by one of the better OEM cable manufacturers, can’t remember the name off the top of my head.
Edit - I believe StraightWire manufacture them
@duke86fan I bought the bend and stay 6 inch ones from JDS labs.
Seem of good qualit and I like 'em. Use for e30 to Atom stack.

basically amirm said the solder was so bad they broke after a couple months
Slick photo congrats on the big purchase!
Amir doesn’t exactly get along with Schiit, there is a lot of dubious history there.
The cables aren’t even made by Schiit, they are made by Straightwire, who are reputable.
similarly due to joshes new video on it… where do you get a XLR to 4.4mm adapter… my portable dac can only do 4.4 for balanced so i cant use XLR but the XLR to 4.4 seems the most useful for in the future
you can get this type of adapter custom made by most custom cable makers, I have one similar to this that Hart did for me, it’s a XLR (male) to 4.4 balanced (female). or you can buy a pre-made adapter on amazon or aliexpress like this one; https://www.amazon.com/NewFantasia-Balanced-headphone-Adapter-NW-WM1Z/dp/B07DD3X4KQ/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1F9BA22WZV7M8&dchild=1&keywords=xlr+female+to+4.4+male&qid=1597181813&sprefix=xlr+female+to+4.4%2Caps%2C168&sr=8-5
Thanks! In the next days i will surely check it out and then maybe share my own thoughts about the E1000.
Bought some replacement pads for for my Stellias today as well.
