What did you buy today? (Part 1)

I got a Schiit stack today. Unison USB is seamless on PC, sounds… like my FiiO K5 Pro. I have a nagging feeling something very small is different, but likely it’s just due to volume mismatch.

A downside to the stack is I don’t have proper space for it. If I put it to the right of my monitor as in the picture, my KPH30i cable is too to route around my keyboard. I can’t put it on the left because it does not stack with my 95X energizer (the Schiit is too wide yet too short), unlike the FiiO. So I settled with it on the monitor base, but the base is slightly tilted. Eh.

My dad bought this for me, even though I already have a mouse which is a Redragon Titanoboa 2. Very kind of him to give me one. Also it’s no Glorious Model-O that’s for sure but it gets the job done, overall satisfied.

You could try a riser stand if the monitor height can be adjusted and it suits.

I could. I actually forgot about that option. Well, I’m not really looking to use such a solution for now, since idk if I’ll be moving out next summer or not.

Just arrived, ice cold hunk of goodness

Some of this is a few days old and I didn’t post. The Ares II was a loaner unit and instead of sending it back I just sent some $$$ That’s how it goes in this hobby sometimes…

One of these days I’m gonna get around to a full Bifrost 2 review, an Ares II review, and a detailed comparison of the two. Stay tuned!

Easily my best purchase ever. For some reason since high school nujabes really hit me differently and since then is the only artist I would ever shill. And i have also had a weird obsession with pillows ever since I was a child. Dreamed of a room with pure pillows, no floor just pillows. During Christmas shopping i found this nujabes pillow and went for it. Best “audio” purchase ever! (for scale look at how much bigger it is than my 11 inch shoe size)

DT1990 round two lol.
Needed a good gaming headphone since I no longer have the Hd800S…
I prefer the analytical pads for sure. Even like the analytical pads with music, though I won’t be using these for that purpose haha…yeah no. Just gaming

Got my LZ A7 today. I think the cable feels nice. The IEM also sits perfectly in my ears. For now, I don’t have any complaint.

After listening to 3 to 5 songs on the LZ A7 on monitor black filter, I don’t see anything problematic. As for my taste, the bass was enough, I don’t see it as lacking. As for the rest, I need to spend more time with it.

I purchased some Yaxi Alcantara pads for my Lawton Modded TH610. The Lawton pads have a 6 KHz peak unique to the TH610 that is causing me a bit of fatigue, so the pad rolling starts now. My yaxi pads won’t be arriving until early January unless they somehow show up early.

Bought these two recently at decent prices and they arrived this week. Unfortunately, the HD600 (silver screen) has buzzing in the left driver. I cleaned out any dust or hair in the cavity and buzzing was largely gone. However, it returned this morning and I noticed that the foam pad insert is torn and is probably smacking against the vibrating driver screen and thus causing this buzzing noise. I ordered replacement foam pad inserts to investigate. If this doesn’t work, then I’ll try to start a return. The HD580 (v3: Made in Ireland, black silk screen) is maybe a smidge smoother than the HD600 and sits in a very narrow middle between the HD600 and HD650 (HD6XX), but it is really hard to distinguish between the HD580 and HD600.

Adding these to the pile:

About $4000 worth of audio gear and it’s the Simcity 4 soundtrack that draws my eye.
