FYI. The balanced XLR based MKP 29 looks like it is a single channel 3-pin XLR. So that option may not work.

you’ll double the load on the amplifier, resulting in reduced output volume and increased noise with 2 headphones. There are ways to make things ideal and… more correct.
But i’ll be fair. Everyone can toy with their things as they like. Dac an amp and amp an dac to a amp, fiddle levels and split it and put more headphones and amp it maybe again and so on.
Sound will come out = Success on mad science hour.
So this arrived today, balanced cable for my 99 noirs. 50 percent off but still 50 euros + shipping…

I picked up a couple of these. They came in yesterday. Much nicer than I thought and they are a good length from DAC to amp.

Pretty dang similar… only been 2 hours but smoother and more ‘veiled’ are apparently noticeable
This set is burned in btw (if that matters on these)
Also a tad wider (I’ll take it lol)

Cymbals and high hats are more pronounced on the 58x to my ears (veil refers to the recessed treble correct? Lol)

Are both from diy audio heaven? This may be more reliable if you really wanted to compare graphs. Also just going to say this graph looks pretty different from what it actually sounds like lol

HD58X sounds like the white graph only when they’re not broken in or just “slack” on your head. Definitely not what Sennheiser intended considering the 580 and the 58X in the black (dark gray) graph.
Edit: And yeah HD58X are one of those so “versatile” headphones where every damn graph on the internet is accurate, it just depends on the person and its head/ears and if the headphones are slack or clamping lol. Audiophile hell!
