What did you buy today? (Part 1)

QCY T5 black for 35
Samsung Galaxy Buds for around 80-120

both for my wife as gym in Ears

Crinacle wrote an intersting article about True wireless IEMs

so we(she wanted something cheap)decided to get the number 7 out of 21 - the T5. Sound was ok for my better half- usability not so much
I use it now as test
Quite detailed and flat sound- fit is soso. Listened to a audio book in the lunch break and it was a bit bright, with in your face voices, what I like. Have to change tips later on.

So I ordered her the Buds which are number 2 on crinacle’s list https://crinacle.com/guide/tws/

and yes- they became her Go. Though her Apple phone does not support all functions

yesterday at the gym I used dual Bluetooth mode for both from my Android S10
the BT 5.0 range is spectacular! This space is gigantic and uncountable people with Beats, EarPods and other BT devices sweat around
No hickups or so
Both TWS worked flawless

In the Android app you can choose between 5 different sound profiles:

“Soft” for a diffused field signature (my favorite)
“Dynamic” for a v-shaped
“BASS BOOST” - I forgot what it’s for
“highs boosted” - maybe designed for “Grado-ists”?

“Standard” for a harmann tuning- this is what you get(without the Samsung Gear app) with iphone connection- the favorite sound of “Mrs Transporter” - I thought I knew her. We are for over 20 years a good team and out of nowhere this shocking leak came up!

in the Samsung wearables app you get to choose the soundprofiles
you can choose between different functions for the left/right butt´s touch fields

sadly you have to decide, if you prefer changing volume with left/right
or:
Google Assi/Siri + the environmental noise(especially on voices or all noises) can be brought up, as long you hold the touchpad

my wife decided for siri + mics for the noise - so she has not to fiddle out the iems, when I ask her something
she can change volume in the spotify app on her Apple watch - so its ok for her

play/pause/next or last track still work with one or two pushes on the touchpad

isolation is ok and fit for her and me with the Buds is very good - unlike with the QCY T5s

So this arrived today:

Tri I3, first impression is that is very detailed but a bit too much treble. In the original cable it sounded quite good but when used it with the black balanced cable that I received from ebay (13 euros) the sound was too bright (shitty cable) so I went back to the stock cable, much warmer.

Now it’s inside a drawer attached to my M9, i will let it burn for a couple days…

Sennheiser HD 650 is ordered
after I used HD 600 for over two years and gave it away to get the 660s (my worst audio mistake)

I want to try the new revision

Hd650 has a new version? I thought that was just the hd600… the hd650 is great👍

It’s just a build change, no sound difference (at least not an intended one)

The 600 came first and the 650 was created to address some of the complaints of the 600 (a bit wider and better bass response but not as defined treble)

Back in the 90’s right?

The hd600 came out in like 1997 and the hd650 in 2003

I got a little confused… I thought this was in regards to a new 650 (like the new 600 that was just released)

Glad I’m not the only one driven nuts by that. I pretty much swore off all paracord style headphone cables after that. Supple braided cables are the way to go. My favorites overall are by Forza Audioworks (Claire HPC Mk2) for my Stellias.

Delivered today: Koss KPH30i. Found some spare change and decided to see what the hype is about, lol.

They are pretty amazing for bass.
I am liking the KSC75 much more though. And even cheaper at $14. Much better details and imaging, and treble and midrange.

Does it stop your girlfriend from stealing your half in the night?

I don’t have that problem in the first place but idk it could be used for that lol

Good day at the record store!

I’ve been looking into picking up a DAP and today I took the plunge and ordered the Fiio M15. I’ve added and removed it from my cart a dozen times the past two weeks. It arrives in two days, so at least there won’t be a long wait to compound the buyer’s remorse

New Yaxi TH900 Pads + adapters for my HE560 v1

A lot thicker, nice foam and present leather smell.
The quality seems to be much better and ich like how the leather feels a lot more.
In addition they look better on the headphones too.
