What did you buy today? (Part 1)

supermarket headphones

Sounds like it for most modern tracks

I reviewed the UR40 and they barely passed. i can only imagine what the UR10’s sound like.

Classic rock is surprisingly good on them but I mostly put on the Eagles , the beatles , and journey on and for $10 headphones they do a really good job so far

Have you tried those CL-10 Koss? Supposedly they are like the Porta Pro but better for modern rock music and more modern stuff.

no cause I cant find them anywhere in canada. Ive been wanting to tryem out found them ebay though might grab one some day
but I got pkph 30 is on the way

Yeah I found somebody who is selling them in bulk on EBay in the US if you want a link or something.

I ve seen a bunch but shipping to canada is way too much

Darn borderlines.

Nothing, I bought nothing. Stopped by a large HiFi shop https://hifibuys.com/ with many pieces to sample. I listened for hours, swapped headphones, amps even some wires.

Almost bought a prima Luna EVO 400… that’s a ā€œone stop shopā€ of an amp and the HP out sounded incredible…as it should with that many tubes and features. Such a beautiful and awesome amp…
Anyway, Meze Emperiums, HD800s, LCD 4z, X, 2, Grado 2000, Focal clears, utopias, Eligia, none of it did anything enough to impress me. I think I may have reached headphone/HiFi saturation. :flushed::thinking:

The store looks so nice! I wish I had a store like that here in South Jersey. Considering driving to canjam just to be able to sample headphones like that.

Ever been to Bloom Audio? You need to make an appointment, but Andrew is pretty open to having people in to demo equipment. I missed the invite, but he had a mini headphone meet there a few weeks back. At least one person on these forums was there. Metal571 was too it looked like

I wish we had something like that in Cleveland, Ohio. We have tons of speaker shops, but no headphone hifi type of joints.

I haven’t heard of it but judging from Google I’ll definitely be going soon. It’s only 45 minutes away. Guessing I have to call for the appointment. I hope I won’t feel pressured to buy something lol

Yeah, I would take a look at what he has and email him. I’ve bought a bunch from him in the past year and he is great to work with. I plan on making a trip down there to try the RAAL SR1As before finally deciding whether or not to pull the trigger
