Big fan of Burson stuff, hope to hear your impressions about it!
I’m not an iem guy but damn that cable + metal look is dead sexy.
I had the Conductor 3XP for 2 weeks on loan and it was nice. It didn’t wow me but I though it was a nice AIO package which can be had on the used market for a good value. I can’t speak to the 3XR nor did I do any Op Amp rolling since I didn’t own the unit.
Burson has great build quality on their units for sure!
Will be using it as an amp only and not sure how much the balance adds. I think as you say it’s a good all in one unit and using it as a headphone amp and as preamp for my Dynaudio monitors is where I’m hoping it will do its best work. According to our resident sage the DAC leaves a lot to be desired. I’ll be feeding it from my Holo Cyan so let’s see how it goes.
EDIT: and yeah, a good price on the used market is the way to go!
Yeah they are a beautiful but fairly understated looking set (with the exception of the bling cable). The best part is they sound as good as they look. I’ve been more of a headphone guy for a while but the convenient form factor, isolation, and sound quality has really won me over on these. Now I feel like a stealth audiophile when I’m out in public wearing them.
Now I will try posting in the correct thread!
Just got a new toy in today that completes my system, SE/RCA switcher. Now all four amps can use the Schiit Loki, if desired.
No markings around the front knob, but it is a nice clean look.
Received a cable from Impact Audio Cables today. Dual mini XLR to XLR for my LCD-X / XC.
I really like how it turned out!
Pretty sure I just got everything in this photo for $200:
90s Onkyo stereo that’s been sitting unused in a beach house for years. Only issue is apparently the right tape deck doesn’t work, but I don’t know any other details. If the turntable and equalizer are serviceable, I’m already well on my way to my starting on my secondary listening setup.
edit: more pics:
Bought new HiFiMan HE400se from Amazon. Will be here Sunday.
Just waiting on my Loki now. Saw this switch posted in a thread here and liked the look of. Nice and weighty with solid buttons.
How does it work? What is the in and the out?
Mine is either 1-in/4-out or 4-in/1-out.
I run my Loki into mine and then go out to 4 amps:
Well I have not tested yet, but from what I gathered before I bought it, you can have any number of in and out. It just depends on how the buttons are depressed or not to get the signal through there correct chain.
I don’t quite get how it works, but would be interested to hear how you like it.
