What did you buy today? (Part 2)

Recent-ish Aquisitions:

Weller Helping Hands
Not sure how I like them, despite having them for almost a month now. They magnets are either too weak to hold their spot enough or too strong to maneuver them single-handedly.

Notebook by this unknown networking company:

Of Mice & Men - Earth & Sky

Just bought back the same schiit Gummby/Mj2 combo I sold almost a year ago…missed it relative to other stuffs. Loads of high quality tubes to test. Pretty much end game.

Loki mini + added to my rig…E30 > Asgard 3 > Loki when I want it > Sundara or DT 880/600. I’m enjoying the flexibility. Of course the Loki max came out just days after I ordered, but I don’t need balanced (yet) and the Mini + is 1/10th the price!

Been a while since I’ve listened to them. :metal:

May I recommend Mullard tubes, if you can find them?

I posted a bunch about this headphone in some other forums while I was demoing it, but my refurb from Woo Audio finally arrived yesterday evening! I’m back to having a MYSPHERE 3.1, and this one is actually mine. …also, I got both the bass frames and standard frames.

(Didn’t break out the fancy camera this time, just a quick photo from my phone.)

I’ve spent the last couple weeks only listening to mid-tier headphones, and even putting these on for just like two songs… yeah, I really like these headphones.

Have fun with it :heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

I usually have issues with sound from over-ears, but stumbled on a very, very well priced pair of used Drop + THX Panda headphones, with case etc.

If they do work out for my ears, I reckon they’re perfect for some upcoming situations like long flights. If they don’t, I can sell them on without loss.

I’m hoping they do, wireless, comfortable, full sound is something I could make use of.

EDIT: For reference, I paid less than a used WH-1000XM3

hopefully your set is a non neutered set without any of the update issues.

You can always revert the firmware revision. Dekoni make pads for it as well if you don’t like the stock pads.

Hadn’t found anything out about that yet to know what you mean?

When they released an update for the headphones so users could personally EQ their Pandas it either borked or bricked their pair. If your pair is still vanilla like mine make sure you never update the firmware. You can read more about it on drop.

Since I want to have a wireless IEM setup for watching TV, I was wondering what to do.

I would buy a TWS (and already have bought a cheap one), but the available options are pretty bad.

I was considering getting the Qudelix5K which I had a chance to try out and mostly liked, but the price of that dongle is >110 euro and I had some minor issues with it. It has bad availability in my country, long shipping times and if Qudelix releases an upgraded version, I would quickly regret that purchase.

So I thought what gives and ordered this for 15 Euros: Xiaomi Bluetooth Receiver

I think these are easily the best 15 Euros I have spent on Audio equipment (and probably ever will). While I wouldn’t recommend it as a main source for critical listening, it will destroy every TWS on the market (despite offering only SBC) when combined with the 7hz timeless, which it can drive with a painful amount of volume. Compared to the Qudelix5k, the Qudelix offers EQ and volume, both of which you don’t need for the 7hz timeless. It offers also marginally better sound, but at almost 10x the price.

Thats cool, i have never seen a xiaomi bluetooth reciever before! Its simpel and slim look reminds me of Apple’s design language…
For 15 bugs its a not brainer!
