The HD 660S came in and my buyer’s remorse… What buyer’s remorse… They are amazing!!! Only have about 20 hours of burn in on them. These are quickly becoming my favorites. Any advise on pads to increase sound stage and bump the bass a little w/o sacrificing clarity?
As far as I’m aware anything other than the Sennheiser velour or a clone of it make it sound like garbage
the chip shortage will let up at the end of 2022 and most probably be resolved completely by 2024 but if you need a gpu you need a gpu
Hot damn, Master & Dynamic MW07 are a positive surprise.
First impressions after 30min listening via iPhone->Qobuz and AAC codec:
- Satisfying punchy beryllium bass (reason I bought them)
- Good mids and highs (for a TWS)
- comfortable
- premium look and feel
- excellent stainless steel charging case
I guess the sound smoothes up after a few hours burn in but it is already very good out of the box.
Is this TWS worth the original price of >150€? I’d say no. But for currently 76€ it’s a no brainer.
Got the Tin HiFi T3 Plus yesterday. My first impression went from instant buyers remorse to this thing is fantastic after I let them burn in over night. I am no IEM expert and can only compare those to the FH3 and ER2XR but for me those have the best stock tuning out of those three. Very pleased.
I don’t need any more IEMs but I couldn’t resist, a tuned KZ, who were my first IEM (KZ zs10 pro). Will give them a listen to and then probably give them away to any of my friends who are still using the earbuds which came with their phone. I like introducing them to the rabbit hole Lol.
Welcomed HD 650s back into my Sennheiser collection. They aren’t my favorite Sennys, but they do make for a good benchmark.
Your not alone in your plight brother i have a small trunk full of pads and at least try some swapping on nearly every HP XD
I have decided to treat myself for a change since it is indeed the holidays, despite the rampant issues on going for most people. No audio stuff yet but it will arrive in a week or a two, but for now can’t wait to hoop with these on.
Technically i did not buy them i just ordered them. Much used Plantronics ear cushion started to fall apart and the sound was… what it was. Lucky they accessory guy does not know about spare cushions.
So EPOS - Sennheiser ADAPT 660 to the rescue.
They bit lighter, sound is way more natural and yet… No issues with two device connections and swapping source.
Some of my more recent acquisitions: GS Audio ST8B and GT12X. I’ve had the ST8B (with a custom colorway, option #A03) for a couple of weeks now and just got the GT12X in today. Both of them come with the typical complement of [DEFINITELY-NOT FEARLESS AUDIO TIPS AND CABLE WITH NO MARKINGS], and while the IEMs themselves are immaculate, the cable for the ST8B was actually damaged on arrival, so they’re both awating some XINHS Graphene I’ve got on the way. While I’m still tip-rolling and breaking them in, these are both keepers and may well be the last BA-only units I will need. The ST8B has a warm, relaxed playback that still gives a wide soundstage and has enough treble to not sound “Blunted or Drowned-out”, IMO. The GT12X is a more balanced playback with more subbass that can rumble; both sets dig deep and have solid slam and rumble for BA units, but the GT12X is the clear over-achiever here. Some shots:
We don’t have a whole lot of graphs out there for either unit, and the ones for the GT12X have been pretty varied so far, but (to my ears) this graph from GS Audio seems pretty well representative of what I’m hearing while testing with the same tips and volume-matched-by-ear from my Hiby R3 Pro (the GT12X is slightly more sensitive, but neither one needs a lot of power to drive well):
After I have some time with them, I would be willing to send them off to someone who does measurements so we can verify what the playback actually is. I do wanna enjoy them more before I do that though, lol.
Bought A marshall Emberton bluetooth speaker. Pretty impressed so far, especially for the deal I got.
