I mean, if I don’t find the 880s bright, these are probably gonna hit me right in the feels, right? RIGHT!?
That is beautiful!
A Xinhs 4-core graphene for my 7Hz Timeless. I order this on 11.11, but the first one was dead on one side. I just got the replacement for that, and it seems pretty nice, with good hardware, but it doesn’t coil well.
Recently got the Unique Melody Mest Mk 2 and Kinera YH802 Limited Edition.
The Kinera are a TWS with a non offending frequency response, neutral-ish with some bass boost and a lot of sub bass roll off. However they are used more so for the convenience factor. I just have to get used to the feeling of them falling out, especially coming from IEMs that have an ear hook that secures them in place.
The UM Mest are a fantastic set of IEMs. A lot of people have recommended them as ‘end game’ and while they won’t stop me from buying other IEMs in the future, they do have some of the best tuning I’ve heard so far in an IEM. The bone conduction driver is also something quite special when you hear the low notes shake through your head.
And it’s time to add to my music library appartently:
No pictures because I don’t have them yet but got thrown on the waiting list for a pair of Magnepan LRS. I’m stoked. Can’t wait…even though the current wait time is about 3 months. Charlene from Magnepan is an absolute sweeheart and she took my order after she got home an was more than willing to talk to me about them at length while she was at home in her own personal time. Great company and I hope they can expand and get to a point of being able to crank out their speakers with more speed. She also said they’re working on their incredibly outdated website and that good things are coming so it sounds like they’re making moves.
Thought about getting those for my sister for Christmas. Instead I bought her sheets.
After a long ass week of waiting, these finally arrived at my door step today, and man they are a beauty to look at. Also, I was planning to get the Matte version but unfortunately the seller informed ASAP back then that there was no stock of it, so I had to settle with the glossy version instead. So far, first impressions have been great for me, need to have these in my ears for a while just to make sure I can drive these in properly but they sound great out of the box so far.
Got 2 headphones the last few days. One i ordered on the drop.com black friday sale, a Sennheiser HD 6XX, and that arrived today (slow postage to Norway partly due to Christmas i would guess). Only just tried them, and first impressions are that they quite similar to the 58X i already own (and i suspected as much), but they felt a little bit clearer at the first few minutes of listening…
The other was a company Christmas gift. A “true wireless” iem, the SACKIT ROCK 300 that i have been using a few days now…
First impressions are that they are not that great… a bit boomy bass, clear enough higs and a bit recessed mids…and as with most iem my ears get uncomfortable after more than 10-15minutes of use. Funnily enough it doesn’t matter if i go for the small or the large tip, the comfort is about the same… only eim i really find comfortable for longer periods of time that i have tried are the apple wired iem that came with my iphone 7… guess the original airpods had the same shape.
I’ve been auditioning this new set for a couple weeks now. Not much I can say that other’s have not. It is an amazing headphone, so the decision purchase came rather easily.
Love the cable! How’s the v550 do with the sus? Definitely looks good.
Thanks - that’s an FAW Noir Hybrid that I’ve commandeered from my HEKv2. I’m using it until I can get cable made up for the Susvara. I’m thinking a Norne Drausk, or a Double Helix Compliment C - something all copper is what I want to try.
The Susvara is doing surprisingly well on the v550. The pre-gain is set to 0dB and the pot gives me a nice range - I can’t get up much past 1-1:30 before it is too loud for comfort. So there is headroom left.
Now since we all know that just because something gets loud, that doesn’t mean its driven well. Here again, the v550 is doing really well. The treble is not harsh or grainy, there is no urgent sense of “leanness” in the lower mids, and the bass can hit pretty hard when called for by the track - Not 1266 TC hard but it does nicely. The overall system feels like an upgrade when using the Susvara with this amp. With that said I have no delusions that this is an endgame amp for this headphone… However, the v550 is certainly enough to enjoy this headphone now, and while I investigate others that would compliment the Susvara better.
Big Congratulations to you!!!
