Hi Dave(E),

That is NICE !
No I didn’t, wish it was that case for it would have been understandable. But much to my dismay, I fucked up for I did’nt get into detail on the description, for it was indeed only a single stick of this that I wll be receiving, basically I am fucked and I have to save up again and buy an another one.
Hi. I’m happy to share my thought with you on the Edifierw820nb. I am not a reviewer of any sort, so it’s just my layman’s subjective view. Although I do have rather a lot of headphones.
Build quality :- All plastic, competently built, perfectly adequate for normal day-to-day use. They are, however, not sturdily built like the Sennheiser Momentums! I’m very careful with my headphones and, therefore, do not expect them to fall to pieces.
Fit :- Very comfortable. Very light. Earcups are soft with two angles of movement. The seal is particularly impressive. I have worn them for a couple of hours with no problems.
Controls :- Simple, straightforward, and work perfectly well. I do struggle to press the correct button the correct way on occasion, but this is a combination of confusing these headphones with other headphone configurations and me having Mars bar sized fingers!
Sound :- I shan’t bother trying to do a full breakdown, but rather say, I was pleasantly surprised at just how good a sound these produce. They are clear, detailed and have good overall sound. They are not bass cannons, and they are not too bright but have ample definition in both departments. They are particularly good with vocals, male and female. The easiest way to describe them is that whilst I’m wearing them, I tend to forget I am wearing them, and walk around in a pleasant musical bubble, which is occasionally punctured by wonderful harmonics. The soundstage is not massive, more motor-bike helmet than space-helmet, but it does extend beyond your ears. Suffice it to say, I am more than happy to wear these when I go out and about.
Noise cancelling :- I don’t really have a great deal of experience with ANC headphones. I have owned AKG Y500s, and now own Sennheiser Momentum 3s. What I can say is that when I’m out and about listening to music, I am unable to hear the outside world. I have yet to try the transparency mode and so can’t comment. Other people who have tried them are astonished at the level of noise-cancelling.
All-in-all I think these are well worth the money. I paid £67. And I’m sure as they are burnt in with further use they will improve on what is already a great sound.
Of course, everything is subjective and what may be pleasing to my ears is dull or lifeless to someone else. I would say they are fairly neutral, well-rounded headphones, comfy to wear and at a fair price. They are by no means on par with the Momentums, but they are between a quarter and a third of the price.
Hope that was of some use. Happy hunting in the headphone rabbit-hole!
That was absolutely great, thanks for putting in the effort! I’m looking for something to wear when my gf is working in he same room as I am, these seem like a good option.
A word of warning. If your GF talks to you while you are wearing them, you most probably will not hear her, and therefore run the risk of ‘ignoring her’!
I get that every single day, multiple times per day. Apparently, I need to acknowledge or confirm every single comment she says about anything.
Replacements for my Polk SDA 2 SL2000 tweeters. Should be better in every way. I’m going to start here and not jump straight to the RD0198 since you have to upgrade the crossover
So I made a nearly fatal error today… Wifey and I were at loggerheads, and making no progress towards reasonable resolution. When things turned petty, I decided to not participate, so I put on my headphones, hit play, and legitimately couldn’t hear her anymore. Apparently, that was an escalation rather than an end…
Don’t. Make. My. Mistake.
Been there! Done that! Followed by:
“That’s right, just put on your headphones and ignore me!” And that is after 30 to 45 seconds of silence. Stupid Shane thinks that things are over and that it is time to move on.
Nooooo, it is not nearly over. She is just re-charging to go again!
Got the Edifier w820nb in today. I am very impressed considering I paid €65. They are pretty comfortable and though the don’t feel premium like my girlfriend’s XM3, they do feel sturdy and they look pretty good.
Not a reviewer by a longshot and I’ve only tried them out for a bit, but the sound is rather good as well. I never felt like I missed anything. They aren’t baas canons, but for my taste there’s plenty bass. They sound pretty balanced to my ears. I guess there’s not much micro details so not a lot of texture and the soundstage isn’t impressive, but they are good for casual listening.
The ANC and ambient modes work pretty well, better than I expected.
When I’m sat alone I will still use my he400i or speakers, but I think I will be using these véry regularly. If the clamp reduces a bit they would fit even better
Like most headphones, mine has improved after a certain amount of burning in. The y are not high-end audio but provide an adequate listening experience. Yeah soundstage more motorbike helmet than space helmet, but at £65 for shopping and riding my bike I’m more than happy.
Happy listening!
WOW! I put a Periapt cable on the HP-2 today. This is by far the best cable I have come across for headphones. I mean, for the workin’ man that can’t do thousand-dollar cables (Like me!), this thing is the shit. I went with the Type 8 OG Pro XLR.
Excellent build. Wonderful components. Wears beautifully. Honestly, to me, this thing blows away the Hart and the Flow. Don’t get me wrong, those are really good cables, too. But this thing - Fantastic! And it was very reasonable.
I’m gonna get 2 more for the Elegia and the Sundara. Yep, they are that good. Maybe not high-end compared to some stupidly priced products, but they will certainly work for me.
Just picked up the ifi go blu, this thing is tiny and packs a punch! Brought new life to my Senheisser HD 6xx as a set of bluetooth cans… Now I just need to find a cable thats short enough to not have to walk around with a long dangling cable…
Well huh! That thing is kinda sweet. Congrats.
