I had purchased these but returned them for pretty much the same reasons.
They do image well, and are super detailed though. I can see these as a recording/mastering tool.

Yes, thank you. I appreciate your response. There is so much to choose from and so many different flavors it gets very confusing to pick the right set. I reckon that is why most folks have pairs (and pairs), not just a pair!
starting out its not about picking the right set with the right sound because chances are you will go through 10 headphones before you even get close to finding that. if you end up being the kind of person that likes a lot of different sounds things become a lot easier, i have enjoyed every headphone i have owned myself because i like a lot of different type of sounds

The end tables / Speaker Stands came in today. They went together really easily and they look nice.
They finish off my “Junk” system very well! Looks pretty 90’s huh? I love it!
I couldn’t get the exact shade I was after but I wasn’t in the position to spend 200-300 bucks on the stands I actually wanted. Those will come later. I have to see if these MS-10’s can still do the business first. These actually still look nice though, The speakers look good on them and they have changed their character now that they are off the floor. So I’m hoping! Now that I have the receiver re-configured I’ll get some listening time in on them tonight and see how they do. I’m kind of excited.

Weird, seems more sites are putting notes on their home pages informing of shipping delays due to high volumes. What, everybody is STILL stuck inside (don’t get me started) and we are just buying Schiit? (see what I did there?!)

What cables are they, and do they do a 2.5mm balanced?
It’s a Jcally 8 core from Fengru shop on Shopee (they also have an Aliexpress store).
I think they also make a balanced version too, mine standard 3.5mm.
As the light from the 2Qute is a bit bright for a bedroom I wanted something to cover the window with.
So got a machined lump of stainless steel, some rubber pads to protect the glass and felt to prevent scratching.
Top needs a clean but otherwise its perfect
Kinda looks right too.

The SSP is not bad, I really like its size and sound, and look. Its not my default sound signature preference, but I like it and it has made me fear 15ish db pina gain much less as it doesnt hurt my ears. I am looking at xba300 and final a4000 now too to see if those have any additional benefits too.
