What did you buy today? (Part 2)

Oops . I didnt see this so i messaged you knowing youre a Ripples fan. For non-bass heavy music like edm/hip hop and more vocal/orchestral/acoustic would the Ripples beat the Serratus?

It still depends on a couple of factors: even though you don’t need a lot of bass, do you prefer sub-bass or mid-bass? Do you prefer more natural sound or are you okay with bigger, more exaggerated treble? Serratus is airier with more soundstage. Ripples is more intimate with better dynamic range

Thanks to the freeze here in Texas, we’ve had allot of downed tree branches.

Hell, had one fall where I park my truck while I was away from home.

Thanks Brandon. I do like sub-bass but its not necessary for this set. I just picked up the maestro minis for that! I’d prefer a more natural sound with excellent dynamics and lots of detail. Sound like the Ripples?

I had some gift cards and rewards points, so…

Letshuoer D13 should be arriving tomorrow.

Thanks for helping me move into the world of earbuds!! Ripples here I come…

Finished building some bass traps. I only need to wrap the traps on the right with some good looking fabric (They’re only covered in weeds mats yet).

I also received a 25% student discount code for Dirac Live and will set everything up this weekend

I’m diggin’ it. I love the KEFs. As much as I love my Triangles, I sometimes think about getting these. Is that an 8-inch sub? Subs are so nice, aren’t they? I’m lovin’ mine.

Have you done any writeups that detail the effects of your work? I think that might be a good read.

Decided to take a gamble on the Zeos hype and picked up the Swans OS-10. They have very good clarity/detail for the price. Sadly, they’re also pretty lacking in bass

I might do a complete writeup when everything is completely finished.

The system so far is: LS50, Canton Sub 601 (8 inch) and a Denon PMA 1500 RII as an amp.

The sub really helped with the room modes and to get sub bass (LS50 roll off at around 60Hz).
Bass still isn’t perfect in my small room.

Getting a second sub and using Dirac bass control to set everything up could help to get rid of some nulls and peaks but I don’t really have the space for that and it’s not really necessary in a single listening position.

All I can say is that, I cannot wait. Finally progressed from 1DDs with my very first soon to be Planars. I hope this is worth it guys.

Just came in today. Much earlier than expected. And just now trying them out. Initial impression is good. Balanced sound, not overwhelming in any particular area, with decent width for a iem.

Bought a Dirac Live license today. Results are a lot better than my own filters and Dirac was probably the best upgrade I could have made at this point.

To follow up my earlier post I just received my newest headphone order tonight and it is very impressive! I now get all the Koss love.
KPH30ik out of my LG V30 phone. Full sound and even has some bass.

Welcome to the Koss club pal, hope you can enjoy your KPH30is just like the rest of us, for that is really neat to have, even though we know for sure that we have better gear than that, but we just cannot seem to resist its charm.

Hope yours last, for there are a lot of us have broken KPH30is due to its fragile build, but I luckily got mine fixed by getting a replacement headband.

Thank you. I will use them sparsely and will be gentle with them. I hope to get at least a couple of years out of them.
And they sound Way better than any really cheap headphone should.

QoA Gimlet. Today was an interesting day: I have been dragging my feet on doing some of the IEM listening and giving impressions I’ve wanted to and I felt like I forgot something: when trying so many sets, sometimes you’re listening to the music and sometimes you’re listening to the sets.

I think I’ve been in a “listening to the sets” rut because I put the SIMGOT EN1000s in for a break and they’re making me just want to listen to the music.

Sometimes you need that reminder about the chase…

Koss come with a lifetime warranty still right? I remember you used to be able tonjust send them in and get a new pair everytime they broke as long as it wasn’t from misuse.
