What did you buy today? (Part 2)

If my S08 fit me as well as Explorer I would’ve never given mine away

That’s a shame, I use spinfits on mine and it helped fit

If it is going to come down to a choice between the LCD-X and the HE1000 SE, I am guessing you will end up keeping the SE. As far as a dynamic that can compete, I would look at the Focal Clear. I was looking at them also, but I have the Radiance so I figured I was covered.

And then I discovered IEMs just recently… Oops! Anyway, happy listening.

I do have the Focal Clear and Radiance :joy: don’t really use them much but I like the clear (maybe I need to bend them in to increase the clamp but it always feels like the bottom of the cups are sticking out).
I tried but I have a lot of issues with IEM’s/Earbuds fit/comfort/fatigue so I don’t have plans on buying more anytime soon

Well there ya go! I actually use my Radiance a lot still. I’m fortunate in that they seem to fit me well. And Fortunately/unfortunately so far I have been enjoying the IEM experience. Aye, a deep and evil rabbit hole she be!

soundcore Motion X500 Bt speaker, in pink because it was clearance priced. I would have gotten an X600, but no stock left.

I need my thunder, rain, wind, frogs, crickets and chimes to be high fidelity when I’m going to sleep.

Something from ZMF maybe?

Yeah there are a lot of opinions regarding how HE1000se sounds, and it probably comes down to differences in audio chains. If your source gear is heavy on the treble, then you are going to have a bad time I would assume.

I got these, one for the Penta P50 and one for the Da Vinci.

I mean it’s not technically that I bought it, but more like I received it via trading my DT880 Pros that I was no longer interested using anymore. And man, Hidizs MP145, you are a damn surprise to my ears and I think I must have received the very first version, since I have heard that the revision of this IEM set made it worse, but this one, man it sounds so freaking good. I am still trying to find some tips for this though, because not gonna lie, the fit for me at first is a bit weird and still taking for me to get used to.

Replacing a Topping D10 DAC and Geshelli Labs J2 DAC.

Gustard R26 - Discrete R2R DAC w/Streamer

Congrats! It will definitely stray from the sound of your prior DACs. R2R and MB DACs tend to run hot/warm, so give it some breathing room.

Enjoy your new gear/sound!

thankfully the GPU was only released Jan of this year so I’m hoping barely any use, fingers crossed, I got lucky with this used 5700xt

hmm, any reason why you didnt wait for the new gen GPUs from Nvidia, AMD and Intel to come first? (pretty soon.)

I still do have plenty of time to cancel the order but I’ll be honest my 5700xt is dying soon I’m pretty sure
and besides knowing soon, we don’t really have a good time estimate yet like January 2025 is pretty long still and I could always sell the 4080 super and go to the next gen

maybe I’ll cancel the gpu and replace the case and stuff first but I doubt it, I’m planning on keeping the 4080 super for as long as I can lol

In that case if you dont mind selling it later then buying it now and selling before release is probably a better idea so the price does not drop for you when you sell it.

Good idea cuz GPUs are damn expensive nowadays…

Gonna buy a new PC sometime next year to finally let my 12 year old (by next year) PC rest.
