I am not sure if this consider buying but I did bought some parts and materials in order to restore this old keyboard of mine, for I have given it to my little brother previously and he wasn’t using it anymore, hence I have decided to restore and mod it.
I repainted the frame due to it being in shambles, I have replaced the old Gateron brown switches with Akko switches that to my surprise are pre-lubed, bought some foam as well to dampen the keyboard though I think I am going to do the tape mod as well by covering the PCB with the tape, and finally new keycaps for the previous keycaps of this keyboard is just damn awful.
I hope I did a decent job modding a keyboard like this for the first time, because I barely do anything with my keyboards when modding is involved.
Sounds like it could land between the Kph30i and KSC75. The PortaPro is too warm / dark for me. Prefer the more neutral kph30i. KSC75 with a big bass boost is probably still the best of the three for me.
Finally upgraded to Nest Max from the little guy, been going strong for 5 years, Sancai tips came in, and oof the M5 Ultra has arrived, charging for some listening later…
Clearly that COB LED utterly shits on the non-COB version and was just a bit more expensive. And has zigbee/tuya compatibility so it should be automated now for me with it automatically adjusting brightness levels based on the time of the day. (although no temperature adjustments it seems)
Ok so I just wanted to share that I returned my Muse M5 Ultra. As you can see in pics, it arrived with a noticeable scratch on the face and the grill or window for the tubes was offset quite a bit not fitting the window of the case. The packaging and unboxing were one of the best I’ve experienced for a product of this cost and the sound was good from the time I had with it. Unit did get warm after awhile and it did have better more full bass than the M4. The screen was really nice to have too, but I did have some Bluetooth issues and i do believe some odd anomaly issues from the tubes, like sound dropping out and sounding scratchy. I know it has springs to hold in place and I never really bumped it around but I could hear it from time to time. Luckily for me HifiGo accepted the return and I shipped it back to China, did pay $66 for shipping and not quite sure if I will get everything back but we shall see. My needs have kind of shifted yet again so I think I’m just going to stick with the BTR15 for now for Bluetooth mobile and really focus on my bedside setup with a desktop amp and dac. I think the Ultra is gonna turn out to be a great product I am glad I got to experience it.
