28 days later and I now have the Gjallarhorn. First it was on backorder until December 18th (I think). Then with the holiday’s, the US Postal Service took several days longer than normal to deliver it. I’m not complaining by any means. I’m just glad it wasn’t lost.
I have it hooked up on my desk now, and starting to have a listen with it.
What a journey it was to get these. They were supposed to arrive Dec. 5 but they never showed up and the order got cancelled. But days later I checked again and suddenly there were some available again! And they finally showed up - today!
Ordered these Sunday night and got them Christmas Eve! Very impressed with the delivery and their performance. I have gone purple and am very happy after one hour.
Christmas afternoon is peanut butter cookies and Eris headphones
I hope you can enjoy the Performer 7s, for those to me have been the best set I have so far this year. It’s already great with its initial stock tips and cable in my opinion, but I think with a little bit of tip rolling and a cable change, that one is gonna even be greater.
I love the tips that I have for it right now which is the ePro Propeller tips, just need the Dunu Lyre Mini in order to fix some of that discomfort that I have been getting when I am using the Propeller tips and the stock cable.
@GoneToPlaid@K4sh1ma Thanks, guys. This is a very impressive set. I got a Kinera Leyding cable for it straightaway, which turned out nice. It’s very clean, extremely transparent and stone quiet. It also looks great and wears beautifully.
The stock tips were great right out of the box, which was surprising. Candy’s were OK, S&S tips were terrible, and I have Spinfits on now, which I am enjoying very much.
The IEMs themselves are superb. They offer a great build, they are very comfortable to wear, and they provide an absolutely spectacular listening experience. The music sweeps you away immediately. I have made an initial impression post in the P5+2 thread. Bottom line, I am enjoying this set very much. They have exceeded expectations by a wide margin.
After Zeos mentioned in a video the Hifiman R9 “were like 50$”, i looked into it, and he was right, dirt cheap (paid 70$ after shipping). since i dont have many closed back headphone i bought a pair to see how they were.
Got them in today, i have to say they the dumbest looking headphones i have even seen IRL but the color is awesome. initial impression sound wise is they are OK, Not 500$ worth but decent (bloated bass is defiantly an issue) but still burning them in, so no final judgment yet - Also i think they can be way better after a pad swap, maybe something a little more airy to mitigate the bass
Ya the bass does feel a bit bloated that’s why im leaning towards something a little more airy maybe valor. Though after putting on a hybrid tube amp its a lot less noticeable since it sound “wider”.
But i’ll give it some time see how i feel about them after a few more prolong sessions
Congratulations. I am excited for you; you have been wanting this for a while I think. I am anxious to read about your forthcoming initial impressions etc.
Thanks, I won’t have a proper listening session until Saturday, but so far better instrument separation, deeper soundstage, and better detail retrieval vs the BF 2/64 (I figured as much ). I still have a while before it reaches its final sound (same thing happened after running my BF for a while). The Yggy is feeding my Mjolnir 3, which is powering my Arya V3 at the moment. I will post my thoughts once I get a few good listening sessions in with it.
Got a couple of these organizers at a home improvement store. I tried all the other forms of storage (watch, acrylic jewelry boxes, etc.), this is my favorite.
RP5 is that “Goldilocks Zone” handheld with a Vita-like form-factor + OLED screen that I’ve wanted for a really long time, so it’s been a blast to set up and game with. I do feel like something like the 28xx is super convenient for its pocketability, though. Hopefully something with that form factor (not including the RP Mini) with an OLED screen comes along.
I have finally received the right item from the reputable seller that I used to deal with, with no issues. And I must say, this cable is pretty good for the given price. I know looks are subjective but I really like this cable on how it behaves and looks quite fine with my AFUL Performer 5+2. A shame really, if only the stock cable of this set was modular in the first place.
