What did you buy today? (Part 2)

4 day, I’ll be sure to check duty free

Youll be smelling cigar smoke in the hallway on night 3.

Just picked up a Pioneer SW-8 by Andrew Jones subwoofer from Goodwill.

I had one of these for several years, surprisingly good for the price. I can imagine Goodwill price is even better!

Got some new pads in! Going to play around with the Dekoni Velours on the Clear Mg and also got some new ones for the DCA Aeon Noires.

omggggggggggggggggg. i love dekoni’s comfort, i wasnt aware they had for aeons… please share some pics, it would be even more interesting to get your impression on sound changes as well, especially since you cant go back! at least with a clean instalation!

apparently our aeons are supposedly super sensitive to earpad and clamp pressure changes

keycap set in today to match the rest, and yes it’s managable, never going back

For sure, I’m nervous about doing the pad change since there’s no going back! :grimacing:

hello! it’s a Preonic, there is also one without the number row which looks more like a bar of chocolate because of it’s more elongated look called the Planck. So Preonic and Planck, very inexpensive custom keyboards, they are super easy to build, no tools needed except what you will need to screw in a few screws, anyone can do it

here is how i had it before

i like the grays better than white on black like i have now so i may order those colors again but in the low profile i have now

oh yeah and btw these keyboards are completely customizable so even if the layout is a bit weird for you in the start im sure you can make it work. regardless i do believe it should work natively with the US layout out of the box

btw i have two of these so if anyone in norway is on the lookout for something like this shoot me a message, im not sure how export would work but yeah, fun fun, fun boards

Some stuff has arrived, just been procrastinating taking pics haha. Got my Jotunheim 2, a HAC for my Auteur’s, and a couple of fancy shmancy power cables for my Bifrost 2 and Jot 2.

Yeah, the low-profile keycaps in the earlier pic were what drew me in. Grey instead of black would look amazing there, I think!

agreed!

pimpmykeyboard.com btw, the profile is called F10 just in case you wanted to check it out further.

im just not sure wheter i want to go gray instead of the white or gray instead of the black!

White and grey, 100%.

I’m kind of glad I don’t have a “pimpable” keyboard right now… that would be another money sinkhole. Model 01 is perfectly suitable for my needs currently

oh neat, im just waiting for the perfect split with a good wireless system thats also white. i think you are right, the black has to go i think. thanks for the input!

the keycaps i gave around 40-60usd for and they’re PBT so thats not bad at all, well to be fair that is 40-60 usd for blanks but it’s not GMK bad who overcharges for abs

You can find conventional keyboards for like 15$
But if you want a “tenkeyless” one, it’s at least 50$
And this is 140$ for like 40 keys.

Man, keyboards are like women’s lingerie. Watch me becoming a millionaire by selling a one-key keyboard for 1000$.

P.S.: Yes, I’m kidding, I get it. Customizable, mechanical keyboards, good switches, etc. But two years ago I thought “hey, there’s not much space in the keyboard tray here, so I’ll get a keyboard without a numpad, and less stuff will mean it costs less, huh?” …and I ended up with a ~100$ Cooler Master CK530. :no_mouth:
