Got my new toy today (iFi iCAN Pro amp). Very excited, but a little disappointed that the remote is missing.
Two pics, the face and a Huge power cable.
Sounding pretty damn good. Still in SS mode.

I will be sticking to it everyday for the next few weeks. @MON created a thread for it so I will update there.
That Wera has the most satisfying shaft release. Its so tempting to just mindlessly all day releasing/retracting that shaft haha
It really has a very satisfying mechanical “clink” to it.
The button in the back to expose the bits also has a certain authority to it opening.
That’s what I refer to as the SO (significant other) tax.
I think I’ll use that from now on lol
Got my amp switchbox in from @skedra over at viking weave cables in. Going to be a few weeks before all my various interconnects arrive though.
HELL YEAH!!
now selfie time, thanks
Well, I got myself some nice loaners to evaluate for a week. Are these going to be replacing my LCD-2 Closed Back or not I wonder.
It’s a shame they only come with a 1,2m 3,5mm cable by default. But apparently there’s a 3m XLR cable available from Focal, the store owner was in contact with Focal to ask, so that’s nice to know. It’s around €200 though, at which point I would probably get something custom from Hart Audio or Forza Audioworks.
The cable is a big step up from the Elegia, but that’s not saying much when you get this short piece of jank. I’m just glad it doesn’t have any microphonics.
It’s going to be an interesting week demoing these. I’ll post some final comments in the official Celestee thread once I’m done with them.
To be honest, I don’t even know how to answer this question) I bought a lot of energy drink wholesale here products today, for my small startup. I want to open a small store with various products. Now I have a full garage of goods
F. Know that feeling. Work a side gig as a general contractor mostly doing decks. Stocked up for 4 decks in a single go at one point and had like 5000lbs of lumber in my 2 car garage along with the rest of my tools
OG galaxy buds! and I am shocked how good this is
Well, the Sundaras came in late yesterday.
They were putting in new windows and back glass door which forced me to COMPLETELY tear down the system I had just built! But that is another thread. The box did come and I instantly got excited. It gave me a second wind to get the office back together and give 'em a spin!
When you first reveal the box it presents well. I like the nice lining that the headphone is nestled in. The cable that they provide is actually not junk in my humble opinion.
Mind you, this is the first headphone I have bought in many years (the 8200’s I speak of are work issued) so I don’t have anything to compare this to, but it’s OK. Kinda short, but at least it doesn’t have all the janks. I have it uncoiling as we speak. I did get a replacement cable at the time I ordered the Sundaras, a Neomusica cable and while it’s not a Hart, it’s not bad either. Flexible, light and feels / looks good. I’ll probably upgrade to a better one later but this one is nice and it gets me started. I’ll try the stock cable at some point just to see how it is.
So then the headphone comes out of the box. Immediately you can feel the quality of the build. All metal, the set has a good solid feel to it. Nothing is squeaky or rattles, there are no blemishes anywhere on it. it looks real good. I like the headband a lot, it’s this nice spring steel with a good comfort strap. I like the pads, too. When I put them on I was very impressed with how comfortable they are. My ears go in the cups well, and I like the seal. The headband adjusts with a nice click. I found the sweet spot where they should be right away. So far, so good!
I plugged 'em in and started with the SP200 on low gain. To my surprise I had to get into the gain a bit before the heaphones really “turned on”, right about the Noon position. But then they did. Geez, what a trip! The music has this wide, natural feel to it. The stage feels big. Everything is so accurate. And there is zero noise. Which means you hear absolutely everything. How a finger comes off a guitar string, the way a hammer strikes a piano key, the breaths the singer takes and how they use the microphone, the crystal clear mids and highs that can bite at times but can be adjusted out easily. The tone is rich and yet technical. Bass is very nice. not big and booming, not overpowering. You can actually hear the notes the Bass player is playing. Drums and percussion is mind blowingly good. The separation of instruments is remarkable. I find that these headphones like the gain to set to high, whereas the HD280 Pros play better at low gain.
I only have a few hours with them, so more time is needed, but so far I’m really diggin it. I feel like I understand more about how the more well-versed members here speak about their headphone experiences. It’s just fantastic when you get to hear a real quality set. Definitely not knocking my HD280 Pros, I still love them too. But these - geez! Big thumbs up at this point.
What is it for Device?
XD-05 BAL, used w/ Sundara, 6XX and hopefully the Teaks tomorrow
