What did you buy today? (Part 2)

Thank you, sir.

They’ll be here next week, sometime between Monday and Wednesday, so I’ll let you know sometime after that.

Well, I did it. This had better be good! Won’t be able to listen for a few hours, but I’m looking forward to it

After trying the LCD-X last week, the HeKv2 feels so light that I almost wondered if there was even a driver inside.

Looking forward to seeing how you find them, what will be the chain that you are gonna use them on?

The only one I have! Soekris dac2541 → Violectric V281

Very nice, I’m hoping to work up to something like that for my hek

  • USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type A to Type C adapter

  • USB 2.0 Micro OTG adapter

  • 2mm twist drill

  • 2mm end mill (this and the drill are meant for the same job, I just was not sure which one is the right one to use)

  • Vishay potentiometer adjust tool = fancy screw driver (I should now have two of these, question is where number one is hiding…)

  • Wrist Watch pin tool = miniature pry bar

I was about to ask

I was about to ask if you had taken up home dentistry!

Today I got a solder station and some Cardas brand silver solder. Im going to take my constant cable conundrum in my own hands and make my own…or try at least.

I mean, I have PCB-tools made from food grade stainless as well as cutters for my Dremel…

LMK when you start to take cable orders.

Got these babies in today. Haven’t had much time with them, but the initial impressions are very good. I am finding faults but I find myself comparing them to way more expensive stuff. Tonality and timbre are very good, and so is the soundstage. Very impressed by the bass these produce, and the mids are not forgotten either. I do find the treble lacking, there’s no sparkle going on here. Technicalities like detail and image separation are adequate, maybe good even for the price, but nothing noteworthy.
All-in-all these are absolutely great for the €11 I spend on them, and though the cable is meh and the buds are plastic, I don’t feel like they are going to break on me anytime soon.

It’s been a while since i posted, once you start hoarding equipment like this it gets harder and harder to justify each higher cost expenditure…

There’s a new amp or 3 coming in sometime in the next, (this is taking forever dammit), few months and i wanted to try an RCA comparison against my BJC silver, and standard copper RCA’s along w/ the Mogami gold, WBC and as always the tried and true Amazon basics…hehehe

Cardas “fancy shamncy” RCA’s in the house tonight. Not stupidly expensive but certainly no where near cheap or even reasonable in cost. I doubt there will be any difference but i felt the need to at least try.

Its looks fast. Nothing wrong with that.

Hell yeah, I can’t wait to try some Cardas cables. I got some on order actually.

Supple, flexible, clear L&R Differentiation, the heat shrink is evenly applied and helps prevent any twisting or crimping of the RCA head, if his shielding is as good as the claims and the soldering was done as specified these should be overpriced but excellent for their intended purpose.

New DAC in the house! To be used with my (future) TV and speakers, but for now I’m gonna evaluate it with the Element II. Let’s see if I see differences in DACs. =P

Thanks @WaveTheory for a great deal! Took some time to arrive but on his end, everything was very quick and clear!

I’m relieved it’s working. Shipping it that far to get damaged in shipping would have SUCKED.

How badly can you screw things up right? And guess what if you don’t like it, you can make it over again a few times until it’s just puurrrrfect!

That’s a comparison I want to hear about!
