What did you buy today? (Part 1)

Dropping my 2cents, someone on the discord server told me about StockDrops discord, and thats how I got my 3090, a week ago they were dropping 3090s on newegg in combo packages with power supplies. They have alerts for everyone 30X0 seris, cpus, and other stuff.

That’s how I got my 3070. And a few other cards namely a 3080, 3090 , and another 3070 for folks.we are having the most issues getting3060 TI’s for dudes who need them

the one thing causing difficulty for the future of my closed back headphones is whether i want the 770s for the “studio production” sound if i ever make music and a sound i generally like from zeos’ sound demo, but they are also VERY much needing an amp for the best quality (at least on the 80 and 250 ohm variants), no real protective case that will make it easy to take on the go (which i will be doing at say the beach or the mountains) and the nondetatchable cable is very irritating. or the meze because of not only the great look, easy to drive nature, and the sound demo from dankpods… though fairly bassy, has a good amount of high end and mid energy to not bug me as they were just comfortable and fun… BUT they probably aren’t best for studio monitoring or testing other sounds. and they are more expensive than the beyers, and maybe overall might be a bit TOO bassy

(comfort is really important so that should be good anyway… heck i got those grado pads so that it will not hurt to play them for like 8 hours)

This should sound a bit better than my current Pyle. Thanks for the advice

Though the Soviet Union is one thing, their music is top notch. Ironically I ordered this on Amazon

They are great, especially if it is the 1980’ies choir, as it hat many members.

I have their version of the Soviet national anthem, in a 70 year tribute to the revolution, recorded the 1st of october 1987.

The only song I wish was in this specific album is a good recording of Katyusha.

Bought one of these bad boys in preparation for my auteurs…

A bifrost 2 will be a noticeable upgrade from my E30. Now to decide between the feliks audio echo or the monoprice liquid platinum for my amp upgrade (I may end up getting both tbh haha).

Actually got this in a few days ago, but better late than never right?

It took just shy of two months from the order date to arrive, and honestly it wasn’t that bad of a wait.

Lol. That’s how it goes! The completely-reasonable-and-correct-no-need-for-further-rationalization justification for both is that MLP isn’t as strong from it’s SE output. The Echo gives you a high-performance SE output. Then you have both!

Just received YR1035 internal resistance meter. Planning to use it to measure my cables.

Edit: Just measured some of my cables and some of it kinda surprised me. Most of the silver cables that I have measured at around 80 to 120 milliohm and then there’s this exotic cable that measured badly. It was advertised as a pure solid silver cable and it measured at 320 milliohm. I really want to return that cable now. Anyway, I really like this internal resistance meter. It’s easy to use and feels robust on my hand. For its price (I paid for $70) and resolution, it’s a worth buy for those who loves to measure.

I finally got something to put my stickers on.

New to me 2015 Macbook Pro. I already have a 2016 that is starting to have some some issues and my work was selling these cheap so I decided to scoop one up.

Just be careful about potential battery swelling issues. My 2015 13 inch had this issue. Totally fine after replacing it, but I let the battery stretch the aluminum case a good inch thicker… yikes.

Love my 2015…Be careful though the batteries may swell. If that’s the case spend the money or put forth the effort to replace them sooner rather than later, before they can damage anything in the case. I just had mine replaced and she is purring smooth again. Also, one of the reasons i was getting noise in the system was because of the effects the battery swelling was having on the other components. Congratulations hope she lasts many years! Happy listening.

Thanks @Nick_Mimi and @Not_Daijoubu. I am keeping my eyes peeled for signs of battery swelling. The first few machines that came available ended up having battery swelling issues so I passed on them. This was the first one that got a clean bill of health. How easy is the battery replacement if I end up needing one? And where do you recommend sourcing the battery?

I watched many videos on it, nobody gave me a good source and all of them took several hours of weird painstakingly slow work to remove them because they are glued in. I gave the ubreakit folks $157 and i had it back in 3 days working like new…sometimes it’s simply not worth the ass pain…
