Retired Feb of 24. Recently back to work part time, mostly because life is not cheap anymore. Medical non covered stuff, Household things breaking etc.

I hear you. I was going to try ad hold out until I was actually 65 in a few months, but I could feel my body giving out so I made the decision to call it now. It didnât help that this stupid woman creamed me on the way home from work, lightly inuring me and totaling our car. 3 weeks before we are set to leave CA and move to our new home. Didnât need that! 
But Iâll be OK. We will see how things play out, but I think we are gonna be fine. We will find a way, man! I donât want to go back.

Thanks, man. I get more enthused about it as time goes on. The burden lift is the most remarkable thing Iâm feeling so far. I was fortunate in that I was able to wrap up all of my projects, break-fix issues etc. so the break was clean, no turn-over to do. No more meetings, budget battles, aggressive timelines, complex technical problems and so on. I donât think I am going to miss that!
The only technical issues I want to deal with now are finding where the fish are bitinâŚ

I am next door in Nevada. I retired when I did because my body just could not take the physical abuse day in and day out. It took about 6months before I did not hurt every day all day but then the âSurprise you have cancer callâ! Radiation non covered costs plus all the other stuff just would not allow me to stay ahead. I am back to doing what I was but on a part time basis (4days a week.) I am going to try and do another year which will put me at 70, and doing HVAC at that age is getting tougher every year.

I packed the desktop system today. That was the last thing to go in the office. Man, the cable plat alone took quite a while to lift. when the systems start going down, it hits me that this move is very real. We havenât moved in 30 years, so I have completely forgotten how much âfunâ this is! Itâs interesting how this place is de-constructing. This once ultra cool man cave/office/music room is just an empty room again. The fun part is that when we get to our new place, I get to build it all over again. It may take on a whole new configuration. I have been toying with the idea of separating the speaker setup from the headphone setup. Depends on the room. I will let it speak to me and go from there.
In leu of having the desktop system, I am on the big system in the living room this evening. I am using LDAC over Bluetooth, making my V40 the streaming source and it sounds great. I have never used it in the 8 years I have had this thing, but it turns out the headphone circuit on this Onkyo amp is really good. Itâll do for now.

I was finishing dressing the cable plant on the desktop system in the office today when I had an ah-ha moment. Turns out I canât use (donât need it) the Sony 12â sub in the living room of the new house. This room is very good acoustically. So I moved it into the office. Luckilly, I was able to use the Monster speaker cable I was using for the surrounds at the old place to connect it.
Holy shit. That is exactly what this system needed. This thing rips now. I am extremely happy with the outcome. Especially when you consider this massive upgrade didnât cost a dime.

It just dawned on me that I didnât provide any shots of the desktop system! Things are pretty much the same as the old place, just a little more streamlined. I am not using 2 screens anymore, or at least at this time. I like having Arthur on the desk with me. He likes it too!
And of course, the big new addition. It is positioned behind me near the corner of the room.
The acoustics in this room are so good I feel like I donât need anything more in here.

You know, I think it will be fine. I got spoiled having the second screen, but it took up too much room. This just feels better to me. So far so good, anyway!

Using a monitor arm helps with the room issue and there are those cheap âportableâ monitors on ali you can use like that.

It doesnât look like it in the picture, but this is a 16-inch laptop, so it really isnât bad. That said, a monitor arm is a fine idea and at some point, I may just do it.

haha and here i am crying over not being able to use 27inch due to speakers being the in the way and i have 2x24inch + 13.3inch + 50 (maybe) inch TV.

For me, I love not only the reduction in visual onslaught, I really like being able to space the speakers out more without having to worry about that second screen. And of course, being able to put Arthur on the desk is pretty cool. I like him there!

I have an older LG 29â UltraWide on an arm next to my laptop screen. Sometimes I close the laptop to just have one screen, but the only âworkâ that happens on the small screen is email, and messaging.

Still unpacking from the move! We are down to the little stuff now. I finally found the audio box I needed to re-assemble the bedroom system. Iâm still waiting for the new entertainment center to arrive, so I thought I would do a test build just make sure everything made the trip. She lives! Turns out the only casualty was the amp. The LF foot broke, but I can still use it. The amp itself as a whole rocks as hard as ever!
I canât use the Vintage Mitsubishi speakers, I donât quite have the room in there. Iâll tell ya what, tho, these Triangles fuckin get it! I actually enjoy the mids and highs on these little Triangles more than the 8-inch Mitsubishi 2-ways. I love that this system is back in action. This new office is starting to feel like a lab now. I dig it.
