What headphone(s) do you really want?

The Jet Black Empyreans. Meze took their loaner back and now there is an empty void in my headphone library.

My dream realistic setup (that I can afford) is this:
Cans: Hifiman Arya and Klipsch Hp-3
Iem: Sony IER-Z1R
DAP: Fiio m15
Desktop setup: THX 789 and Topping D90.
I could afford all of this, but here in Brazil right now with the money to buy all of this I can litteraly buy a new car. Our currency is very low… So… no hahah

I’m really curious about the Meze 99, and also the hd660s (I own and love the 600 and 650). But for my next purchase I think it’s time for a jump up. I’m thinking Focal Elex or LCD 2.

IMO, the Elex would be closer to a direct upgrade in the Senn path it looks like you enjoy. The LCD-2 is quite a bit different, but a great choice. They’ll have quite a bit more low end extension and impact with mids pulled back relative to the Elex W shape or Senn mids, and somewhat dark but present highs.

Fr wise maybe imo, but presentation and other aspects are fairy different. It’s definitely an upgrade but not really close to a direct one imo

I’d love to try. Such a pity that’s such a difficult thing to do.

Yeah, that’s why I said ‘closer’…relative to the LCD-2

I really want a pair of Beyerdynamic 1990’s. I don’t need them, I don’t do any high-level audio editing or mixing, I just really want a pair lol. They seem like a very good all-around pair of headphones, particularly for gaming with good imaging but also for listening to music and whatnot. but if I’m saving up $500-600 I would probably upgrade my DAC/amp before getting them.

I’ve heard this as well, that the Focal is the logical step up from the 650, and less incrimental of one than the 660s, which sounds like a great headphone but not worth the money if one already has 650s. The Audeze just appeals to me…different though not too different. Special.
