I have to say, I donā€™t think Iā€™ve seen a modded c like that before lol, looks pretty awesome :+1:

I also should say that if you got good at tuning and modding like that, you could totally sell something like that

Yeah Iā€™ve done something similar to the phantoms, but less intensive http://imgur.com/a/BU5HWup

I half wanna modify the stl file for my veritƩ 1060c grills and print it for the phantoms.

The phantom grills look like almost the mrspeakers ether 2 grills

OK Th900 pads can fit if you mess with them. But the diameter is small enough that it makes the pad opening argument I had moot. The ear area between an audeze styled pad and a smaller th900 is unfortunately about the same. Also, the way the clamp force (or lack thereof) pretty much requires you use an audeze pad unless you replace the headband/bend it a good amount. I have some brainwavz XLs coming in tommorow, weā€™ll see if those fit better.

What about some zmf pads? Would those be what you could be looking for?

wow those mods look awesome, wish i could mod headphones like that. iā€™m always to afraid to mess with them. but ive got 3 headphones coming and i wonder if i might need to do moding lol. the anandas, ebonys, and aeolus.

I donā€™t think the ananda needs modding (and there arenā€™t many easy mods either). There are a fair bit of mods for the x00ā€™s so that could be something to look into if you are interested in doing that. The aeolus idk

my zmf ovals do fit, they have the widest opening of the pads I have in my possession. I just calipered the wave guides and it looks like the best pad opening would be 70x70mm, which is supposedly the pad opening for some akg headphones. The brainwavz XLs get to 65mmx65mm and are affordable.

well i heard the anandaā€™s are ā€œairyā€, thought if i dont like it i could mod it out

I would say eq would be your friend for that one, as I donā€™t really know of any ananda mods (but I havenā€™t really looked into it)

how would you EQ down air?

You would eq the frequencies down (perhaps add a slow roll off) associated with airiness in music (typically in the ranges 10-20khz centering at around 16khz)

kk thanks Mon, ill give it a try

I would be careful though, as it may be detrimental to the sound to some (as personally I wouldnā€™t touch it unless there is an offending frequency)

So, I got to hear the 1570 for a decent amount of time. I think they are good, and their main competitor has to be the lcd2 classic with the sound they are going for imo. I think the 2 classic is more bass focused, and the m1570 is a bit actually like lower mid focused. They are both darker but the lcd2 c is a bit darker. The bass is good, but I prefer the 2 classic for itā€™s bass response. I actually like the midrange more on the m1570, but it has some issues with some shout and some peaks. Fairly wide sounding too, but nothing that blew me away with layering or spatial accuracy. The imaging was better than I thought and I think itā€™s very interesting that it does better than the 2 classic in that regard. Overall I think that itā€™s a good competitor to the 2 classic or other headphones in itā€™s range for a fun planar, but it didnā€™t blow me away tbh. I think itā€™s worth the price, but I donā€™t think it has the bang for the buck as the m570
