55w…guess the Emotiva A100 would be a good one to power these beasties then, eh>
That’s 55 watts at 50 ohms. The emotiva is not that powerful. But yeah a basx a100 should also do the job lol
I feel like this might be one of those cases where the bit of extra juice in the 887 balanced output over the sp200 might be useful as well.
Also it seems odd to me that monoprice did not just include a balanced cable with this thing, given the power it needs… and the way their own amps work. On top of being wired differently from Audeze… lol
Just received my m1570. First, I don’t like the headband, the quality isnt up to par to other high end headphones and there just isn’t enough clamping force for my liking. Even after bending the headband once you put them on the stretch again. The other issue I have is, when you try to remove the earpads they are really tight on there and you risk ripping them since the spacing is not even, qc issue?. Just ordered an extra audeze headband so I’m going to try and replace the current headband. Still listening to them so I can draw any conclusions on how they compare to my lcd-3.
Quick teardown.
Pull the 4 screws on the fasors.
Pull these 4 screws on the next housing.
Band removal. Remove these set screws and pull the pivots out.
Easy pz. BTW Allen key for the grub screw on the yoke pivots. Phillips for everything else.
Just had to take a peak since I’m waiting for my audeze band.
Also dekoni audeze suede.
The Grey is from where they ripped off the coating during removal from my 1060c. New set on the way because it looks poopoo.
Was too scared to do that myself, I wanted to take these apart earlier lol.
Yeah I have a tendency to tear stuff down. 0 fear baby!
BTW the slot on the fasors is to install the pad by spinning it on everyone. Super nice feature.
Im considering fiddling around with removing the foam in the earcup, but I may not as they are pretty much wide open already.
Only 8 screws to find out. LOL. The drivers have paper over them so you should be safe. Might detract from the looks a bit. Maybe someone should airbrush some 'Murican flags on the foams behind to add some freedom to these bad boys
Oh and in case anyone was interested BOTH front and rear of the driver have fasor arrays.
Interesting, I think I definitely want to try th900 pads then. They really shouldve given us pads with wider openings if they were gonna put so much effort into the driver.
Sometimes having some of the driver covered is a way of tuning and isn’t a bad thing, so keep that in mind
Do manufacturers often put fazors that point the sound into the pads though? I haven’t seen enough headphones that come with fazors etc… to know.
Also if it ends up being nice I think Ill have this guy make some th900 style pads at audeze depth https://vesperaudio.com/. He made some good pads that were a lot like the audeze vegans for people who were modding their 1060/1060cs.
For fazors, well mainly audeze come with fazors and not many other headphones. But yeah I have seen some headphones cover the driver in certain areas to either help direct sound or control some aspect of the sound
Did you see a way to replace the hinges with audeze ones, I’m planing on replacing the headband with audeze ones.
I’ll post how when it arrives
Thieaudio Phantom modders looking down on this thread like “bitch please”…
Phantom mods were ez tho.
