Yeah, and it doesn’t even tell you anything about the site and what they do
It more sound like a car service like lyft and Uber.
Because marketing people need to justify their existence by doing market research on how to change already successful businesses. Then they need to justify the market research by actually making changes to already successful businesses.
Well my mind can’t comprehend what you’re saying. It just sounds like bull dunky.
More like keep their jobs.
Sounds like marketing to me lol
Exactly!
Not saying marketing doesn’t have it’s place- I’m part of the “Commercial” division (i.e. sales and marketing) of my enterprise. But anybody who wants to stay employed should always be “demonstrating their value to the shareholders.”
I could say change of name if you can’t bring your products to the masses then that would justify the change.
Pretty sure they were trying to go more mainstream and “trendy” instead of catering to their core customer base
it’s a bit ot but drop shifted their business model quite substantially via going the partnering with manufacturers way. When they started it was all about the price dropping due to increase in volume. Now its more we drop a new product and you get to buy it at a quite reasonable price from the start. Hence the mass as integral part of the name is not necessary anymore.
That’s true, but imo the name drop has no character and is not descriptive to new users. It just sounds like a generic tech company startup name, and that’s the main issue imo
i totally agree with this sentiment.
I love drop what they bring to the table. I’ve gotten great prices like when I bought my Smsl D1 got it for $800 plus tax which is great saved $400. I just see people always referring to the as Massdrop.
It’s because its easier to understand and if people are looking for a product they can search massdrop and get where they are going. Also could be habit
I am very excited about these headphones. Monoprice (or are they going to drop the Mono and change to just Price) has created a class leading product in that THX 889. If they continue this trend with their second generation of headphones it could really change the landscape.
I love how this thread went from showcasing the potentially great new products from monoprice to taking the piss out of massdrop
m1060 with a good headband?!?!?!? THEY LISTENED + Zeos is going to nut
It kinda depends now, there are pretty good larger planars in the price range now like the sundara and phantoms
M1070 is on my list for my new hobby in headphones, which collecting chifi or chifi made.
What about the M1570?
