First real headphone was a Sennheiser HD555… bought it when I was 14 I think…used it for years…than a few not so good Headphones had to do the job…than I bought a Sennheiser Game One headset for gaming and startet to enjoy my music more…

Ive always been interested but didn’t start really looking into headphones until about 2013

I don’t consider them to be an upgrade path as many are downgrades or side grades. More just exploring and collecting lol.

What are your thoughts on the 95x? I’m looking between the 4xx/Sundara and 95x as an upgrade to the M570s.

I love them. They sound super clear, detailed, are very light and comfortable. Not so bass heavy, if thats a thing you want…The 4xx has way more bass. But the Koss sound so much better imho.I had an eye opening experience with them. Never heard so much detail before. I think, they are totally worth it and they will definitely stay here. I’m not so good in describing sound tho :smiley:

  5. 1More Triple-Driver Over Ear - Mistake #2, thanks Zeos! - Sold
  6. HE-500 - Upgrade to my HD6XX and these became my daily drivers for awhile.
  7. AKG K501 - Concert hall-like presentation for my classical collection
  8. LCD-2 rev. 1 - Chocolatey goodness. A different flavor from the rest of my cans, but not a daily driver for me.
  9. Grado Labs HF-3 - Mistake #3?
  10. HE-6 (prototype modded) - Dat imaging and holographic presentation, dat tactility, awesome can when driven off speaker taps.
  11. HEX v2 - Kind of like the HE-500 for teardrop-shaped Hifiman cans, doesn’t have the mids or tactility of the HE-500, but it does a lot of things right while being driven by more modest gear. My office cans.
  12. Arya - God damn, these are awesome
  13. HD800S - Upgrade to my AKG K501, classical music sounds wonderful on these.

Current daily drivers: Hifiman Arya and HE-6

Tried but not interested in buying: LCD-2F (2019?), LCD-4, Elex, Ananda

Tried but might need a second go at them: HEDDPhone, Verite Closed, Empyreans, Utopia

I just got a sundara and an asgard 3 and it’s the best thing I’ve heard so far imo :raised_hands: (havent listened to my hd650 on the darkvoice yet though)

Lots of relatable posts in this thread. So as for me, I tried to but couldn’t remember my original set of wired Sony Headphones with active noise canceling back in middle school. I wish I remembered the model name. I’m sure that they are technically awful but goddamn I loved them. Then I acquired the original M50 paired with the original og Fiio E10 in high school and I loved those too for years of blissful ignorance. Then a couple of years ago I got the HD598 which further piqued my interest. Fast forward to almost a year ago where I stumbled upon my first Zeos video which led to a modi3/Darkvoice/HD600 purchase and turned this into somewhat of an obsession. Now I’m happy with my Elex/Cascade/Geshelli stack and maybe in a year from now, I’ll go for a Verite/RNHP or something along those lines. I’ve enjoyed the ride :bullettrain_front:
