Where do you buy used gear?

Hey guys, didn’t see a topic about this so I thought I’d ask. Where do you guys typically look for used gear? anything headphones, amps, dacs, whatever. I’ll list what I’m familar with

[All] /r/AVexchange - I’m personally pretty active here. Good experience buying and selling. This is my primary place to look for and catch some good deals

[All] eBay - personally do not use this that much. Partly because you kind of need to know what you’re looking for instead of just looking at every listing like avexchange.

[All] Amazon - I have used this (not for audio gear) similar in function to eBay, make sure to check buyer ratings and info. Again same as eBay you need to know what you’re looking for.

[All] Headfi - I don’t check this very often and have never purchased here but seems the closest to avexchange just a different forum. There’s a decent amount of cross posts between the two

Any other places you guys would suggest? Not looking for anything in particular just curating resources. I’m personally US but if you have resources for other regions feel free to post and possibly help others looking for deals. suggestions linked below

how rigid is the search function. like if i search lcd2, i see it’s still pulling lcd-2 and lcd 2. Do you find it to be pretty lenient with common naming conventions for whatever you’re looking at?

It tends to work well with common names and things, it will pull from a ton of things

The Canadian one, at least, is definitely hobbyists listing their own re-sells but there are also a sprinkling of listings from small retailers. It has a purchaser feedback history mechanism to help maintain reliability.

So if I understand this correctly, this is a store front that sells bstock but they also have a market place for individual sellers correct?

In 2019, Reverb became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Etsy—the global marketplace for unique and creative goods—and continues to operate as a standalone company.

I guess we can think of Reverb as the “Etsy” for pro audio.

would you suggest the forum as a whole or just this particular seller? familiar with the headphoneshow/resolve did not know they had a marketplace style forum.

The listing is buy the store that hosts the forum I believe, a list of open box items in effect.
