Who are your favorite female vocalists

Dixie Chicks are fantastic. I’m not big into country but they sure sound great.

Of course there’s Stevie Nicks, Emily Haines, Regina Spektor and so on…
Someone mentioned Rosalia. I think Bagdad really showcases her voice. Video may be nsfw?

That’s OK. Country music fans aren’t big into them.

Postmodern Jukebox introduced me to quite a lot of great vocalists, but these two women just floor me completely:

(the LET ME GO belt at 3:42 is just amazing)

and IMO one of the best examples of how to masterfully sing THROUGH the emotions you’re clearly showing:

Once the orchestra stops singing that bohemian Rhapsody is cool!

Freddie’s Baritone/tenor and Audrey duet live would be fucking awesome :+1:

Yeah, the orchestra kinda ruins it. But my god I love the timbre of her voice, it’s perfect for that song, Aubrey’s amazing

That rendition of their song is just almost overwhelmingly beautiful.
Such raw emotion. So easy to feel her pain.

I was gonna post Lake Street Dive if no body had yet but I was catching up on this thread! Rachael Price has an incredible voice, so much talent. Two of my other favorites right now are Gracie Lawrence from Lawrence, and Maggie Heath from The Oh Hellos. Gracie has killer pipes, just incredible really, and Maggie has one of the sweetest voices I’ve ever heard. It’s just so beautiful.

Yeah, Rachael Price may have one of the best voices I’ve ever heard. You can cover up flaws in the studio, but the fact that she consistently pulls it off live is pretty remarkable. I saw them at an outdoor venue for free with about 20 other people in the crowd, so seeing them on places like Conan and Colbert is pretty cool

I’ve seen them twice now in small venues and they’re just so incredible. One of my favorites for sure.

They’re so good! I think they’re doing some of the most interesting, thoughtful music I’ve heard these days. Lots of cool imagery and depth to their lyrics and their music is just so good. They have a fantastic Christmas album and I’m pretty much gonna play it non-stop the entire month of December.
