Who are your favorite female vocalists

@MazeFrame Oh my goodness I love Within Temptation! Sharon’s voice is so otherworldly.

There’s this one girl named Brittany Church I have heard here and there. I love her voice.
She appears on this fan music a lot, but besides that, man her voice is so good, regardless of the music itself, even if you aren’t into that sort of thing (I actually like the music myself).

Let me know if you find like her voice, the music, or both. Always wondering what others think about things. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I have been hooked on this album by Emile-Claire Barlow.

Just an interesting discovery in electronic music.
A friend of mine listens to this, and it says “feat. Irina”… but there’s no female vocals?

And I stumble on this.

Yup, the pitch is altered. But it’s the girls voice. Ironically, the “original mix” with altered pitch appears to be the most popular one.

Fever Ray also did this for the Vikings soundtrack:

i didnt have a chance to listen to all of these before i could no longer resist posting, so i hope i havent repeated much. hers my go to female singer who i feel are truely amazing (in no particular order)

too bad some jackhole shot her. she had a great voice and a really creative process, even for covers. my wife and i were, and still are big fans.

stumbled across this by pure accident, this was the first of her songs i heard

heres where some of my nerd will show. this was i think a closing song to naruto at one point before i fell out of love with anime. was a sensitive time in my life and it spoke to me.

ive been a fan of hayley williams for nearly her entire career. long before she was as popular as she is now. i enjoy a lot of her early songs with paramore.

one of my coworkers turned me on to this band at one point. i cant say im in love with everything, but i do enjoy her voice and several of their songs

when i discovered nightwish they became my insta-favorite for a while. they are still high in my list. they have had multiple different lead female singers but each of them has had her own merits. this is their second album. their first album had a much higher soprano. i dont dislike those songs, but i think the writing wasnt as good.

i think thats a long enough list for female singers who im a fan of. there are others but they just didnt make the list this round. if you are interested in anything else let me know, id love to share and exchange. Always open to new music

This woman right here as well. Not only technically masterful, but also the most genuine emotional display in a vocal performance I’ve ever seen

This one is out of left field, but I have been rocking this lately:

Too many, too different from each other to name; but starting a little left field… Diamanda Galas, for sure:

Karen O is super underrated. She’s done some great solo work too. Where the wild things are ost and Hanna ost. Also a collaboration with Danger Mouse.

I love that she’s wearing a Bon Jovi shirt.

I’m constantly amazed at seeing high school kids wearing T shirts from bands from my day. Chili Peppers, Nirvana, STP, Alice in Chains, Sublime. I want to stop them and say…“Ya’ know Sonny we invented that music!”
