That sounds like the kph30i lol. Or something like an audioquest nighthawk or hd650
Kph30i are so close! I just like to close off the world in a closed back. My Marshall monitor are almost perfect for me. But theyāre falling apart plus I wish I could get something thats more comfortable. Sivgas 006 and m60x are on my list to try.
You may want to consider some audioquest nighthawks since you can get them at such a good price now, dark with nice mids and actually somewhat closed, the nightowls might be worth a look as well. Just great headphones for what you are after
Are they Efficient? Donāt really have an amp?
I would say they can reasonably be driven by a good phone or mobo audio as they were designed for portable use, but in the future they would benefit from an amp
Iād love to try them! Thanks for the advice!
I have never bought anything based off a review that I regretted. However, Zeosā review of the Focal Clear was wrong. His take on the headphone was not accurate at all, it must have been the high impedance amp he was using. He really should revisit the Clear at some point.
I could agree with this too, as I think the clear was excellent, but he also didnāt enjoy the Arya either (I like them as well), so there are a few that I feel are misrepresented, but itās his opinion and its not always going to align with everybody
Gday,
I will confirm, i have owned plenty of 100$ headphones and recently i decided to throw in the towel and upgrade my audio life! Based on Z reviews, i purchased T40rp and ignored the pad recomendation and bought whateverā¦ YUK, then went for the Shure pads he suggested and WOW. So i bought the rest of the upgrades to, vmoda wire and modhouse suspension strap. I feel like im wearing 1000$ headphones!!! =D Donāt doubt the Z!
Cheers!
he does not like the brighter ones like the Clear and Arya or am I wrong?
he loves the Sundara - so hard to tell, if there is a tendency towards warmer sounding cans - think so
he loved the Aeolus(quote: Aeolos sounds like everyone thinks LCD2s are) ā¦ so maybe
never was unsatisfied with his reviews, from what I remember
but did not buy much of off his recsā¦ only THESE few units
SMSL M6
Kef Q100
Tin Hifi T2 Pro + T3 both are ok
DT 770s - had it way earlier
1990 - had it way earlier
HD 600 - regret giving it away and prefer it over the 650
58x + 660s (a bit overhyped) keep the 58x and sell the 660s
SMSL SU-8 - he was right - itĀ“s ok
he was right with the THX AAA 789
he did not like my loved ifi xDSD - because of fingerprints hahaaa
the ES 100 - not the cleanest but ok
I find consistensy with him is iffy he can like bright things as long as the bright isnāt getting to the offensive region of brigh.
Yes, the 1more quad driver, the worst earbuds in my collection and the most expensive of them all.
why zeos why
more and more I watch his reviews it feels more like he is a business man than a true audio enthusiast.
because you obviously hear wrong. LoL.
sound is subjective and while what the majority reports is usually a pretty good indicator, itās not always right, on an individual / case by case level.
I think that is a fair statement. For example, I canāt stand the AudioQuest Nighthawks. Many people find that to be a phenomenal headphone.
Yes, they are very polarizing indeed lol. What do you think about the design and comfort though?
I wouldnāt say Iām dissatisfied with Z. I would say I donāt always trust his ears. On headphones/IEM/speakers we both have heard, itās about 50/50 whether we agree on them. Iām almost 100% in agreement with him on his amp recommendations that Iāve also heard, though. A strength is Z is very informative. He does a great job really diving into the features and quirks of gear. No one else I know of goes through all the ins and outs to the depth he does. So even though I donāt always agree with his opinions on sound quality, he fills a very helpful niche with everything else he talks about.
Wasnāt a fan of that either. But, I have a huge head. So some of the complaints about the Beyerdynamic DT177X Go were non-existent for me.
Well thatās good that you have no issues with the 177x lol. Yeah the audioquest headphones are aimed at a very specific market
Iām not sure I trust my ears eitherā¦
I tried the P1 at RMAF and was blown away. So I bought my own and have been struggling with it. I think the issue with those is the P1 needs a ridiculous amount of power or it just sounds weak. I donāt see it being a good portable option. Iām not really interested in IEMs that arenāt portable.
Your telling me that you donāt think carrying around an idsd micro bl is portable? Wow no commitment to the hobby
