Let me try predict this:

  • Lots of plastic, and I mean lots of plastic!
  • These things (disc on the earcups) are metal for some reason.
  • The padding on the headband is too thin
  • The ratchet feels like it is going to break in your hands
  • the cable, it is wrong.
  • Is standard 3/8" though, so you can easily get rid of the jank
  • Buy KPH30i’s instead
  • 23 minutes

If he started reviewing junk just to dunk on it, his channel would be wall-to-wall Chi-Fi IEMs.

Lol all plastic builds aren’t that bad as long as they are at least good sturdy plastic.

Lol he has a full table begins him dedicated to chi Fi iems he has yet to review or have reviewed

Am aware of that.
Sennheiser HD-25’s are mostly plastic and nearly indestructible.

What upsets me is a metal construction that breaks somewhat easily. Ahem akg y50

The Koss PortaPro’s, KPH30i’s and KSC75’s show that price doesn’t mean a whole lot.

These look damn near identical to the Samson Z25.

Now that you mention it, the Amazon basics microphones look like some of Samson’s offerings too lol

True, but I said junk and the majority of chi-fi is just junk because they pump out dozens of variants of the same thing. You get the odd pure gem, surrounded by mediocrity.
Z has made it a point to restrict his videos to things people might actually consider buying (Zeos Platinum not withstanding) and hopefully steer them in the direction of good quality that isn’t a ripoff.

An Amazon Basics thing for less than $40 is something people will probably buy.
It is fair and square in the budget the average person is willing to spend on audio.

If you’re calling it junk, then it’s not Chi-Fi. The term Chi-Fi in my opinion is reserved for quality products such as the Sendys or Xduoo T-20, Audio GD ect type things.

Junk is junk regardless of where it’s made.

I would have agreed with you 3-5 years ago.

However there’s a lot of good, if not better, quality chi-fi stuff. I own two pairs of BLON products, BL-03 and B8. Both sub $100 and imo destroy a lot of higher end stuff.

Now companies drop shipping and re-branding it as their own. That’s a whole other ballpark. There’s a ton of crap in there.

Again, that would be why I said there are the odd pure gem. Sivga have done amazing things in the last few years, they’re also only one of a handful, we just don’t get exposed to the tidal wave of dreck that doesn’t make it out of China unless we go looking for it. There are dozens, if not hundreds of manufacturers, not products, manufacturers all pumping out whatever they can mass produce. The vast majority is just derivative of existing products.

Also tbh I don’t think the b8 nor the 03 really “destroy” higher end options, they are just good for their price range

That may be the z-effect. I’m guilty of it too, I bought the PC37X because he said they were great… they’re kinda alright. Overpriced though.

I’ve just stopped watching reviews and stuff lol, kinda avoiding the hype and if I want to get in on something I just try them myself lol
