Grats! How do they sound? I read somewhere that besides looking gorgeous they have a feature that allows sound to come out of them.

Haha that was describing the sound. I’ve only got an hour on them so the best I can say is that they are pleasing.

Strong clean bass but not overpowering. I feel that the treble and highs actually do come in pretty decently. I was worried that these would be too tame based on what others said. But it’s pretty good. I honestly feel that with the suedes pads, the sound kinda reminds me of a slightly warmer 650 with better more present bass and a fair bit wider.

I haven’t compared to other cans yet really, but I can easily say that everything sounds amazing on them. From what I’ve tested so far. I’ll give more impressions as I dig into them more. My listening so far is just on my dap. I’ll get a better idea once I hook them up to my rnhp.

They take a couple of hours of break-in, but they sound close out of the box.

Has anyone tried the suede head strap vs the leather? I have the suede and curious about the difference.

I got the lambskin. The suede one is thicker right? Like padded? I have a big head so I was afraid to try that one.

Yeah it’s slightly padded. I have a decent size head too. I wear a 7 1/2 hat but that’s a little different when it comes to how headphones sit. But the suede fits fine. Just curious of the lambskin.

I asked ZMF about it and they said that for large heads it might impede the fit. The person answering the email said the leather is his preferred, personally.

I can imagine that the suede one is probably more comfortable. I would’ve chosen it if I wasn’t worried about the fit. I’m sitting with like two notches on each side left for my size. So it would’ve been cutting it close ha.

The different materials also affect the sound, I believe.

I have two on each side too. The suede is very comfortable and I don’t have any issues with fit. And with having a decent size head you’d have to have a huge head for it to be too small lol. But I’m sure Zach has had people run into this issue or he wouldn’t warn people lol.

Mean wood and ear pads? Yeah, for sure. The head pad shouldn’t matter tho.

I wear a between a size 7 & 3/4 and 7 & 7/8 hat and I have no issues wearing Leather Ori pads on my Atticus with the leather comfort strap
which is a much tighter fit than the smaller Aeolus and Universe, Verite or Aeolus pads. I understand precaution, but I think you guys will be fine.

Ahh, I was thinking ear pads. :grimacing:

Nah head straps lol

I picked up the Ori lambskins and a Lambskin Pilot pad for a Lawton mod. They’re really nice quality.

The pilot pad will indeed make it a tighter fit, so your mileage may vary.

I’ve got a smaller head, the rods are just 2 clicks from being all the way down. Personally I find the leather strap really comfy, and have no problem with it. I’ve never felt the need to try the suede option.

wow, you must have a tall head
that is the same setting I wear on my DK Mode sized head, lol.

Thought about getting a pilot pad for hd800S. Point on top of my head gets a little sore. I use two foam pads, like nuggets to relieve it. I love the hd650 head pad.

No, I mean the opposite, 2 clicks from smallest height. Unless you mean that too, in which case, that’s just bizarre, lol.
