Yes and he uses this EQ for the P1 Plus and by that ranking them quite high. Would be interesting to hear more feedback on P1 Plus EQāed vs. Timeless - as the P1 Plus seems like a solid contender at $169.
I did but I have a preference against using eq where possible
peace keeps getting uninstalled on my audio dongle driver whenever its unplugged and takes lots of troubleshooting to get back up
I donāt have proper measuring equipment so I tried to match them by playing sine waves and volume matching them but it sounds weird after Iām done and tiny tweaks just makes it worse instead of better.
I play rhythm games on occasion and eq adds a few ms of delay which throws my timing off very slightly so Iād rather not eq if a physical solution that doesnāt affect latency is possible
This is going to be my do-everything phone and pc audio solution and its a hassle to eq every device that I own
I found the biggest culprit of my imbalance. Its the 2k scoop/plateau that many reviews show in their FR curves. With my new cable letting the timeless fit better into my right ear my imbalance is just that plateau that can easily be balanced by managing insertion depth for the left.
Essentially gone but just sharing in case anyone else finds regular talking sounding off center and wants to try to eq it out. Try giving 2k a tiny bump up. alright I should really stop posting here so much now that Iām done with this issue
Got mine today. Shipping was very fast, Iām actually fairly shocked given my past shipping experiences with Linsoul.
Theyāre very good. Stock they have a lot of what I like, low end in particular is super impressive for a planar iem. My only other experience is the Tin P1 and no amount of EQ could give those a satisfying rumble. With a little EQ these things are beastly in that regard. Clear, fast, typical planar qualities are all here. Iām really happy with the fit too, I was a little worried about that but the way they shaped these is actually really clean. Did some tip rolling right out of the gate and the spinfit CP100 took the top spot very easily.
After some stock listening I got to work on EQ and they really didnāt need much for my preferences. I like bass and I like treble, they both got some relatively small bumps in a few different spots and now Iām perfectly content.
My daily driver is a planar headphone so these arenāt really doing anything that I donāt hear from those. BUT those are a 500$ open back and these are a 200$ iem and performance-wise theyāre very close.
I enjoy swapping between headphones and IEMs for their different deliveries, intimate vs big and open, so Iām happy that I have a great planar version of each in my collection.
So basically if you see picture two this is how it originally looked when it came apart, using the og glue residue as a guide I decided to simply put it back into this position and squeeze a little superglue on either side of the connector and some on the right hand side corner using the long thin tube it came with. The other side of the shell seems to click in place well and never came apart on itās own so I left it as is.
Decent tuning out of the box but definitely bass emphasis as people said.
Left mmcx is much looser than right but there doesnāt appear to be any significant channel imbalance (have to run a sweep with other IEMās and headphones to make sure itās not my ears).
Super isolation and seal (yellow bore large tips).
You might want to check if that loose connector is spinning, as it could spell trouble, had one like that. Mark it with something on the edge(marker or scratch it a bit), plug a cable(preferably something with tighter fit, like fiio cables), spin it on its axis and after removing the cable check if the marking is still in the same place.
I marked it, plugged the cable in, did 180 degree spin. dot is in the same spot and itās also loose in a similar way on fh3 and it works just fine. I guess a loose mmcx on a cable isnāt a bad defect to have compared to worse things. However, the Fiio FH3 stock cable has different ends on the mmcx, itās not flat but forming a cone so I donāt know if I wanna risk trying to plug it in level especially when it might not even.
Well, it does appear like the pin inside the mmcx connector on the right is bent a little which prevents it from spinning as easily, donāt really know what else could cause it.
I canāt stress this enough, but this iem is quite sensitive to tips and deep/fit insertion. I found that my right ear fit is slighlty different than my left ear, and that changes my percived sound a lot. Last night I was trying again different tips and fit (deep/pressure) and I found the right spot. Now I can comfortably put them on in the sweet spot without much hasle.
I strongly advice to anyone that has problems with percived sound or maybe if you feel some kind of channel imbalance to first try different tips and insertion for both ears.
So far Iām very happy with the Timeless. The tuning is almost perfect for my taste, the detail retrieval is amazing and the sub bass is quite good. I think that the only lacking aspect may be soundstage, but since Iāve never tried any of the best iems in terms of soundstage I canāt really compare.
Now Iāll try to get a new cable and other tips to get the best comfort and sound.
hooo boy timeless is nuts for gaming. I was playing a little halo infinite earlier and the precise imaging and that outside but inside your head feeling with all that crisp speedy gunshot sounds its just sooooo immersive.
Before I write to HifiGo (where I ordered it from), how many of you have one side (left) spinning freely and the other having some resistance?
Itās the only complaint I have. I did detach the cable on both sides and to me it looks like one side of the cable has the pole in the middle bent slightly and I assume that since itās the left side thatās straight and spins on the connector with no resistance itās how the left should be too but just making sure.
Othanks for me the same problem or its not a problem but i like more stiff in both sides and one was spinning freely around so your tip is really helpful for fd5
