Yeah I think the S12 will be tip dependent too, at least for my ears. Going to try a narrower bore!
My fav ābalancedā tips are Sony EPEX10ABās hard to come by in the UKā¦āNarrowā then Final Eās
I like it a lot, I do switch around between the stock cable, which I like, the Xinhs 4 core graphene, and the Tripowin Altea.
I still think the Tripowin Zonie is my goto replacement cable, silver plated copper, under $20, really flexible, good sound, available in all standard ends and connectors.
Thanks for the trust. I love that cable and Xinhs always does a great job
I tried this eq yesterday, and it didnāt work for me. I donāt understand why you would tame the 2k region.
I used it as a base, though, and ended up with just a negative bass shelf that is a promising start.
This is my final EQ for the TImeless. Itās a bass boosted Sundara kind of sound, theyāre godlike.
I apologize if Iām intruding, since you didnāt ask me. The lowering at 2k serves primarily to shift the pinna gain region to the right and secondarily helps shape the 4k boost. A possible negative being thinner male vocals when compared to stock tuning, but that could depend on your personal preference.
Glad youāve found something that works for you. You should post your EQ software and numerical values though, some could test it too and who knows probably like it. Cheers.
I donāt mind at all. On the contrary: having some explanation being the tuning helps understand it
I need some assistance. So, this is my first low impedance + high sensitivity IEM, I donāt know if itās normal. Whenever I connect the Timeless to an audio device that is plugged in, there is background sound playing constantly (a low tone - 100hz-ish). Initially I thought itās just my PCās USB connectors, interference, ground loop, etc, but now Iām starting to think itās a faulty cable. Any ideas?
Are you talking about the timeless? For an IEM it is not really super efficient/sensitive (donāt rely on the numbers/specs). I have the problem you described quite often with more sensitive IEMs (in which cases it is source dependent). The timeless didnāt have this problem yet.
Just to make sure I understand correctly: You connect the timeless to e.g. your smartphone and there is no noise, but once you connect that same smartphone via usb to your PC, you get noise?
In that case almost certainly you have got a ground loop. Welcome to the club! You can try to run a GPU benchmark for fun and see if the frequency of the noise changes in accordance with the FPS⦠lotās of fun.
Correct. The Timeless makes this low tone/buzz when connected to any plugged device, while my Blon BL-03 and Tin T3 Plus donāt have this problem. I will try the GPU benchmark test soon!
Do you think the iFi Ear Buddy fix this? Iāve read that it will fix hiss in IEM but Iām not so sure about ground loop.
Ground loops can be nasty. The short version is: There are 100 solutions starting from āuse a different outletā to ābuy expensive equipmentā and all of them may or may not work depending on your situation. And even if they do work, they may have an impact on the sound. Just make sure you donāt die while attempting to mess with your devices ground connections (strongly not recommended).
Other IEMs not having the problem kinda contradicts the ground loop hypothesis however. No clue⦠would still do the GPU test (e.g. Heaven Benchmark)
Woah, Iāve fixed it. It was ground loop. I just plugged in my PC in a grounded socket (which I didnāt knew that I have in my apartment until now). Heh, the more you know!!
I wish my solution was so easy my entire appt shares the same ground so I have a pretty crazy setup to make it bearable on most amps lol
The right iem loses sound.
This iem has quality problems.
I may sound crazy or unhealthily addicted to this IEM, but itās just such a detail monster that regardless of what ridiculous EQ I throw at it, it somehow still manages to sounds great. If it sounds peaky, the peaks sound phenomenal and they donāt drown out everything else, the emphasized tones become a joy to listen to? WHEREāS THE SHOUTINESS!!! The lows are gorgeous, the mids are gorgeous, the highs are gorgeous, so perfectly controlled, Jesus⦠My first experience of this kind with an audio device. Is it just me or this IEM is something truly special? Iām so incredibly satisfied with it.
Should I get a Shuoer S12 too?
