šŸ”¶ 7HZ Timeless Planar

With the timeless, the silicone tips act as in almost the others, right?
Larger mouthpiece, referential sound. Smaller mouthpiece, extra bass and less whistle.

Large Symbio tips on a Timeless elimate the 8k completely.

Maybe I’m going crazy but I have been testing the 7hz timeless with the adhesive plastics that came by default. I have removed them and I notice something different. It can be placebo.

Is it possible that the sound changes?

So disappointed: my left bud lose sound when I tilt my head in a specific way. It isn’t often… For now… But i have the feeling it is only the start of it dying slowly. :sob:

Recieved 2 pairs of Moondrop T-41 sponge eartips with an order which had not requested. I’d tried other foam tips with meh results. Thought I’d give them a try as they were free, and they have turned out to be outstanding. So much so I ordered 2 more pairs.

So far my best experience with Timeless is with Dekoni Foams. I think this has to do with the seal: the better it is, better the dynamics and impact is feel. And beating foam tips for seal is a hard job.

I’ve tried CP100, CP145, stock tips and Dekoni Mercury. The 100 do a fine job, but stock and 145 were a little bit lackluster.

Really good seal with these. Excellent bass and treble. I’m very treble sensitive and my litmus track ā€˜Starlings’ by Elbow passes with flying colours. Never tried Dekoni, being in the UK they are a bit expensive.

Very similar impressions, so it’s good to know. I’m also outside the US but I’ve been in love with Dekoni for comfort for some time now, so I have some spares at home. I would say any good foams should be good, and I will look at these Moondrop tips to see if they’re a good alternative to Dekoni.

From 4:18, Akros compares 1st gen Vs 2nd gen Timeless (different filter colours). Also has graphs.

I have the second gen. filters but I’ve always wondered if it’s possible to convert them to first gen. Is this possible and has anyone done this yet??? I’m suspecting most of us have the second gen. But the video above says the first gen is superior sounding because of the high frequency extension past 10k.
Is this true and if so which sounds better here to most?

I have a set of both 1st and 2ng gen.
My 1st gen set has been straight piped (i.e. I took both grill and filter foam out) and it’s fantastic… definitely better than the gen 2 with filters Insitu.
I may straight pipe the gen 2 as well subject to what the S12 sounds like when they arrive.

A giant killer vs another overachiever…

Nothing unexpected in this case:
Timeless: better clarity across the range, bass with less impact but much more refined. Highs more present and definition better. Also better separation.
FH3: More impactfull bass, sub-bass quantity, but also boominess in comparison. Sweeter vocals but overall the definition lacks comparatively. On the other hand this is a less fatiquing IEM for longer listening sesions especially for treble sensitive ears (such as mine).

Foam tips on the Timeless create some really deep bass. However I went back to no-name silicon tips because the Timeless sounds too bassy for my taste.

Hi there,

I just receive the infamous 7Hz, was curious to see what was all that noise around it, so here we are (seems to be a 2nd gen).

Paired with a Btr5 2021 MQA and a 16cores silver plated 2.5 balanced.

Here the 3 audio i’ve used quickly to test them, high/mid/bass/speed, and oh boy…careful with your volume.

Starts at 1min :slightly

And finally

I have to say for the price, it’s quite an offer for sure, i understand the hype now. I still have to pass a bit more time with it and go through my test list.

What cable is that in your pics?

I must be one of the only few that don’t really like it that much.

I understand it is hyper resolving, I get it is tuned well, I know such planar quality is hard to achieve in an iem. I see all these qualities. I can’t say it’s a bad set: it is clearly not.

The thing is… It doesn’t engage me as the others do. I have audiosense dt300, aria, Mele, heart mirror. They all make me wanna listen to my music. The timeless doesn’t. I can’t find what is wrong with this set for me, but I just don’t feel engaged.

For me, while the tuning is decent it sound too closed in and a tad aggressive. Basically there’s emphasis around 2k and more than ideal mid-bass.

It’s actually very close to Moondrop Starfield tuning wise but I prefer Starfield when it comes to default sound.

EQ opens Timeless up. You can just pull down 165hz Q0.5 and that should already help or go full in and EQ to match Harman Target.

Now, it is very resolving and the way it produces sound is very free of distortion (in a sense different elements in busy music tend to coexist without messing with each other which ends up sounding congested like is the case with Starfield) but the default tuning actually makes it less impressive than it has potential to be whereas with Starfield the difference is fairly subtle.

Don’t worry 'bout it… it’s not just tastes that are different, but ear anatomy as well. Probably everyone has your exact same experience with a different IEM set. Knowing what you don’t want in an IEM has it’s worth.

Finally. Some good EQ. I googled for oratory1990s EQ settings. I found them right here. So far I love how they sound. Crinacle’s EQ sounds very sibilant to my ears. This one is much better.
