đŸ”¶ 7HZ Timeless Planar

This is my final EQ for the TImeless. It’s a bass boosted Sundara kind of sound, they’re godlike.

I apologize if I’m intruding, since you didn’t ask me. The lowering at 2k serves primarily to shift the pinna gain region to the right and secondarily helps shape the 4k boost. A possible negative being thinner male vocals when compared to stock tuning, but that could depend on your personal preference.

Glad you’ve found something that works for you. You should post your EQ software and numerical values though, some could test it too and who knows probably like it. Cheers.

I don’t mind at all. On the contrary: having some explanation being the tuning helps understand it :slightly_smiling_face:

I need some assistance. So, this is my first low impedance + high sensitivity IEM, I don’t know if it’s normal. Whenever I connect the Timeless to an audio device that is plugged in, there is background sound playing constantly (a low tone - 100hz-ish). Initially I thought it’s just my PC’s USB connectors, interference, ground loop, etc, but now I’m starting to think it’s a faulty cable. Any ideas?

Are you talking about the timeless? For an IEM it is not really super efficient/sensitive (don’t rely on the numbers/specs). I have the problem you described quite often with more sensitive IEMs (in which cases it is source dependent). The timeless didn’t have this problem yet.

Just to make sure I understand correctly: You connect the timeless to e.g. your smartphone and there is no noise, but once you connect that same smartphone via usb to your PC, you get noise?

In that case almost certainly you have got a ground loop. Welcome to the club! You can try to run a GPU benchmark for fun and see if the frequency of the noise changes in accordance with the FPS
 lot’s of fun.

Correct. The Timeless makes this low tone/buzz when connected to any plugged device, while my Blon BL-03 and Tin T3 Plus don’t have this problem. I will try the GPU benchmark test soon!

Do you think the iFi Ear Buddy fix this? I’ve read that it will fix hiss in IEM but I’m not so sure about ground loop.

Ground loops can be nasty. The short version is: There are 100 solutions starting from “use a different outlet” to “buy expensive equipment” and all of them may or may not work depending on your situation. And even if they do work, they may have an impact on the sound. Just make sure you don’t die while attempting to mess with your devices ground connections (strongly not recommended).

Other IEMs not having the problem kinda contradicts the ground loop hypothesis however. No clue
would still do the GPU test (e.g. Heaven Benchmark)

Woah, I’ve fixed it. It was ground loop. I just plugged in my PC in a grounded socket (which I didn’t knew that I have in my apartment until now). Heh, the more you know!!

I wish my solution was so easy my entire appt shares the same ground so I have a pretty crazy setup to make it bearable on most amps lol

I may sound crazy or unhealthily addicted to this IEM, but it’s just such a detail monster that regardless of what ridiculous EQ I throw at it, it somehow still manages to sounds great. If it sounds peaky, the peaks sound phenomenal and they don’t drown out everything else, the emphasized tones become a joy to listen to? WHERE’S THE SHOUTINESS!!! The lows are gorgeous, the mids are gorgeous, the highs are gorgeous, so perfectly controlled, Jesus
My first experience of this kind with an audio device. Is it just me or this IEM is something truly special? I’m so incredibly satisfied with it.

Should I get a Shuoer S12 too?

Looks like an AutoEQ preset (algorithm correcting to Harman Target) but I do find interesting that you like the high end being reduced to oblivion.

Shuoer s12 is much better?

Id say it’s the better pick between the two, because it has better techs and price, but that’s imo.

As always, ymmv.

I’d say not better just different.
Timeless has a smoother slightly warmer replay with the s12 brighter and slightly V shaped.
The S12 is better built and cheaper but I personally prefer the Timeless but both offer fabulous vfm so get whichever suits your tuning preference.
Note that whilst the differences are there, they’re not huge.

I prefer warmer/neutral sound. I wait reviews

Question is, how’s the stage and imaging and ofc channel balance?

For me even the Timeless is very bright, regardless of tips and fit, I need to EQ it. I can imagine someone enjoying a brighter sound only if they’re mostly into classical, jazz, pop and classic rock, which generally tend to sound well regardless of how boosted the treble region is. Stuff like metal (black metal especially), and some subgenres of electronica, breakbeat and IDM, already sound too bright on the Timeless (in my opinion)
but as a positive, rarely harsh due to the amazing detail retrieval. If the S12 truly is brighter I’d have to pass and consider a second pair of Timeless, or wait until a warmer alternative gets released. A thing about me is that I want my IEMs to sound natural, not fun and v-shaped, although I can understand the appeal.
