Time to replace your P1
Me too. Itās resolution is insane. Itās staying in my collection because it is so good and unique and absolutley killer at itās price. It beat my #1 rec in my tier 1 (Mangird Tea) in many categories (not all) which is saying a lot!
One more ding that I have yet to mention that Iāve been noticing with more time with the Timeless that no one will want to hear or accept but Iāll be honest about it. Because the resolution is so fantastic, vocals that are recorded sibilant will be portrayed that way. It will not cover up or smooth out poor/harsh recordings be it good or bad.
Given itās price, I may end up picking this up just to have a detail monster in IEM form.
For me personally, I donāt get the hassle of a low-detail IEM/wired headphone as if I want low detail/resolution, I much prefer my Airpod Proās as they are super coinvent and comfortable, but lacking in detail/resolution.
My P1 will always have a place in my spent the other night listening to just it, no eq shenanigans or bass boost this or that just
ā¦fucking love it
Gonna order some new cables then its time for me to get my hands on the 7hz timeless. What cables should i get? pure copper, silver or mixed?
Cable shoppingā¦
Thatās what makes this hobby nice. There is no right or wrong just preference. I think if everyone could try all the IEMS first before they buy that would make a purchase decision so much easier
Nice! (I love the Tea too!)ā¦
Itāll be my set (for the time being) for when I want to get all the details out of a (good) recording. A benchmark.
Itās already on itās way (ordered it before any other impressions/reviews than HBBās)ā¦
The Timeless is gonna be my endgame. I feel it. In case I want fun sound, I already got myself a lot of KZ IEMs and Koss headphones.
Iāve just got a pure copper cable for my 7Hz and it does smooth everything out across the range just a tadā¦just like adding a thin veneer of honey over the sound.
@Jman841 Sorry about the wait. Giving it a good hard listen now. Takes me a good minute to wake up. Iām using the ifi Zen DAC v1 for the dac, and the Zen and xDuoo TA-10 on their balanced out. TA-10 at 64, Zen with power match on at ~10 oāclock and Truebass turned off (adds a bit too much bass, throwing things off balance), and using HAC cables and the translucent yellow stem tips(large).
The soundstage isnāt particularly wide on these, but itās not like itās the width of your ears wide either (like with a lot of closed backs, giving you a completely in your head vibe).
I wouldnāt necessarily agree with the glass reference Resolution gave, as it doesnāt quite sound like a perfect line of left, right or center. There is slight front to back, but not in a really notable sense.
at 4:19 where it starts going into the drum solo, he does sound really centered, but I can hear different drum impacts happening at different distinct locations. Itās a bit wider on the TA-10, but not by much. The beat starting at 4:35 where the drummer sweeps from left to right before going back is distinct.
And I hope the 7hz timeless will give us what the P1 lacks.
Or be a dirty EQ user with a desktop amp, then the P1 can sing
I think you hear this , not the poor/harsh recordings
Do you have the Teas by chance? Or the Hifiman Sundara? (Just some that I have on hand right now). How would the imaging compare with either of these?
I donāt have either. Iāve got Starfields, 4xx, 5xx, K550, Dekoni Blue, SR80e, Porta Pros, M40xā¦
That what a really good set can do. The fact that it puts a premiums on good recordings is not a bad thing, It plays what is on the recording not coloring the recording to be what it is not.
Me looking at my wallet and coping while seeing these praises.
What praises ? Weak bass, harsh treble, no imaging
