šŸ”¶ 7HZ Timeless Planar

That’s what makes this hobby nice. There is no right or wrong just preference. I think if everyone could try all the IEMS first before they buy that would make a purchase decision so much easier

Nice! (I love the Tea too!)…

It’ll be my set (for the time being) for when I want to get all the details out of a (good) recording. A benchmark.

It’s already on it’s way (ordered it before any other impressions/reviews than HBB’s)…

The Timeless is gonna be my endgame. I feel it. In case I want fun sound, I already got myself a lot of KZ IEMs and Koss headphones.

I’ve just got a pure copper cable for my 7Hz and it does smooth everything out across the range just a tad…just like adding a thin veneer of honey over the sound.

@Jman841 Sorry about the wait. Giving it a good hard listen now. Takes me a good minute to wake up. I’m using the ifi Zen DAC v1 for the dac, and the Zen and xDuoo TA-10 on their balanced out. TA-10 at 64, Zen with power match on at ~10 o’clock and Truebass turned off (adds a bit too much bass, throwing things off balance), and using HAC cables and the translucent yellow stem tips(large).
The soundstage isn’t particularly wide on these, but it’s not like it’s the width of your ears wide either (like with a lot of closed backs, giving you a completely in your head vibe).
I wouldn’t necessarily agree with the glass reference Resolution gave, as it doesn’t quite sound like a perfect line of left, right or center. There is slight front to back, but not in a really notable sense.

at 4:19 where it starts going into the drum solo, he does sound really centered, but I can hear different drum impacts happening at different distinct locations. It’s a bit wider on the TA-10, but not by much. The beat starting at 4:35 where the drummer sweeps from left to right before going back is distinct.

And I hope the 7hz timeless will give us what the P1 lacks.

Or be a dirty EQ user with a desktop amp, then the P1 can sing

Do you have the Teas by chance? Or the Hifiman Sundara? (Just some that I have on hand right now). How would the imaging compare with either of these?

I don’t have either. I’ve got Starfields, 4xx, 5xx, K550, Dekoni Blue, SR80e, Porta Pros, M40x…

That what a really good set can do. The fact that it puts a premiums on good recordings is not a bad thing, It plays what is on the recording not coloring the recording to be what it is not.

Me looking at my wallet and coping while seeing these praises.

What praises ? Weak bass, harsh treble, no imaging

Do you own the set?

No, just read the comments.

It’s planar and this is waht planar drivers excell at. I prefer it myself, but I’ve been in many conversations where people enjoy a set that does not point out issues with recordings.

Just another discovery I made wile listening to the Timeless over the weekend.

Different folks, different strokes.

Cheer up!

I never said anything about the treble being harsh. It is quite well extended.

You have me there. Shall we say it has a stereo field where things happen from the left and right in a blob like manner but no, the Timeless does not compete with the imaging of most hybrids/tribids that have a much more engaging 3D/holographic presentation with pin pint imaging. Again, this is a $200 set doing a whole lot right thanks to the planar driver.

This isn’t a slam against Timeless but more so praise for Mele. If I had to choose between them, I’d choose Mele. That’s how good I think Mele is at only $50 bucks!

A left and right stereo field is enough imaging for me. I dont see the point in having super imaging in an IEM. Open back headphones and speakers are better at that task.
