đŸ”¶ 7HZ Timeless Planar

DD HiFi make a really small right angle 2.5 balanced to either 3.5 single or 4.4 balanced. Super convenient.

Hey guys can I ask yall to try sticking a layer of tissue paper or paper tuning filter over the timeless nozzle? Just rest a layer of thin paper to cover the whole opening. I’ve been using some tissues to tame my unit’s disgusting channel imbalance and it has actually been to great success but I noticed when i removed one side the sound seemed to be hollow and when I put it back the sound suddenly became rich and full(with just the slightest loss of airiness). Just thought I’d want others to try if they can get the same effect or maybe might enjoy this practically free mod. I’m using the AET 08 L (yellow bore blue flange) if anyone’s asking.

(If this becomes a hit remember this name it might be my chance to get a mod named after me)

I realise some might call me a lunatic for dragging the soundstage of the timeless that much closer to the ear when the point is that it has a wide feel but for me its a must cos

Also I didn’t replace cos I didn’t want to fork out the cost of round trip shipping plus I bought from a sketchy aliexpress seller that offered to replace but never ever brought up an address.

I saw some durability discussions on top and I’ll just add that my set arrived on 8 Nov 21 and its been going strong except for a slight ‘loose tooth syndrome’ on the left unit since very early on. I (foolishly, considering durability concerns) wear my timeless to bed with sleep assisting sounds of my own preference but nothing broke so far. I hate mmcx very much but the hype of the timeless coincided too well with my urge to upgrade from my cheapo KZ so here I am.

Nope not a lunatic, and I actually think the imaging is the most glaring part, everything has a place, but they are all the same distance away. If you compare it to something that has very good imaging like the Olina, it is really dramatic and obvious how much different both the stage and imaging are.

I have also noticed this to a lesser extent on the S12, so I think it might something about planar IEMs. Maybe that style of driver needs more distance to create the same imaging that a single DD does, and because there haven’t been as many high quality attempts at it yet, we just don’t know enough.

Hey all. Question about the tips that come with the Timeless.

These little guys right here

The little, translucent, soft tips
does anyone know what these are? These drastically improved the sound of my timeless after months of using Azla pairs. These little things open up the stage quite a bit. So with this finding, I tried them in my Monarchs and boy
they’ve improved the stage on the monarch’s as well. The separation is so noticeable with these tips, and they’re quite comfortable.

If anyone knows where I can buy more of these, I’d appreciate it greatly!

Been asked before but I don’t think anyone knows?

As you know I had a problem with the right in ear. It basically faded out on one side. finally nothing was heard

Fortunately, after discussions with the store, they gave me new ones.

I have been able to open the affected one and the problem is not with the MMCX. It’s from the driver area (where it stays). Exerting a minimum force downwards and one side (let’s say diagonally) it sounds normal again.
This means that giving or not giving a problem is a matter of possible internal welding and less than a millimeter of movement.

I spent some time with Timeless and the S12. Some impressions:

“If you want more energy in upper mids, S12 is the way to go”

Err, no thank you :joy:, timeless + oratorys USOUND eq = easy end game iem for most folks.

Thanks, I got a different one from Amazon and it worked perfectly.

Timeless is my keeper. I am very sensitive to forward upper mids but some people like that kind of signature.

I figured I’d throw my two cents in here on this forum. As a person who ran the Timeless on the daily, I can confirm they are absolutely incredible for the price point. I just picked up the Monarch MKIIs and I have to say, the timeless pretty much keeps up with a set that is nearly 5 times the price. For any of you looking at those Kilobuck, flagship sets, if I could drop some wisdom
wait. Enjoy your timeless. It’s a special set. Especially if you enjoy the tuning, with that upper mid energy and fast mid bass. Looking back on it, if I would of demo’d the monarch’s before hand, I may have just passed and kept the timeless on the frontline rotation.

going through my watchbox to see what I won’t regret getting rid of to make up for ordering a backup pair of Timeless :joy:

Do it! The Timeless is a special set.

You might consider the S12 before I got a second Timeless. They are similar, just a tiny bit brighter, cheaper ( on sale currently for just over $150 ). My biggest complaint is I wish they offered the cable with a 2.5mm termination.

I own both, and I probably listen to the Timeless a bit more, but both are very good sets. I actually think the stage on the S12 is slightly better.

They are great ain’t they, stock tuning is a little bright for me on some genres of music, I think I’m a bit sensitive in that 1-4k range, but using oratory usound profile EQ they are just tremendous, just need a qudelix 5k now for on the move.

They truly are. I’m not sensitive to those regions so I can tolerate the timeless at pretty high volumes. Of course I followed the hype train with that set, but buying them really opened my eyes up with how great sets can actually be.

I think I am ready to join the Timeless cult as a proud member! I’ve
been using 7hz Timeless as my main daily driver for the past month+,
and oh boy, it has been great!

I have been using Timeless when walking around, when walking to and
from work, and in the office.

Why I like Timeless so much:

  1. Great sound signature and decent details

I just love the very slight bass boost on the Timeless! Compared to
Blessing 2, SA6, or even Aria, the bass is a bit “boomy”, but not in a
bad way: strings sound amazing and “large”. I love listening to
violins or string concertos on Timeless. Compared to B2, it might
sound less clear or natural, but it still feels and sounds great. The
upper-mids and treble is actually very pleasing and not sharp, as I
was afraid of. At least that is my impression based on some of my most
“shouty” music like Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (bonus for the stringed
instruments) and harpsichord pieces. Still, I feel something like SA6
or Aria has a more relaxed sound when it comes to upper mids and
treble.

While the soundstage is firmly in the “yep, that’s an IEM” territory,
I don’t find it annoying. It sounds close, but it doesn’t sound wonky.
For example, on some tracks B2 sounds as if the sound is coming from
behind me, whereas using Timeless it feels like the sound is just in
your head.

Detailing I find decent. With strings, once again, the plucking can
sound very satisfying. Probably not as clear as on B2 or SA6 (despite
the relatively extended trebble compared to SA6).

Then again, I haven’t really tried the TOTL expensive IEMs, so I
cannot really judge the details much. But it’s definitely quality
enough for me.

  1. Great fit and light weight

I love my Blessing 2, but I really cannot wear it for long periods of
time (>1h) without getting ear fatigue from the fit. Timeless, on the
other hand, fits great! Before I purchased it, I was a bit worried
about the weird disk shape and whether that is going to interferece
with my ear in any way. Turns out I was worried about nothing, that
big disk does not really bother me at all and it hardly touches my ear
on a normal fit. It is also smaller than it might appear in pictures

As far as tips go, I am currently enjoying Spinfit CP100, which gives
me a very good seal.

The IEMs themselves (as well as the stock cable) are very very light,
to my surprise. Very easy to carry them around.

  1. Doesn’t look too fancy

It doesn’t have a fancy pattern, shiny metal bits, or anime waifus
engraved. To me, that’s a definitel plus. I use my IEMs in the office,
and sometimes on public transport, and I do not want my IEMs to stand
out very much.

Why you might not like Timeless:

  1. Slight V-shape

I imagine that some people who prefer more neutral sound might find
the bass and trebble on Timeless “too much”. Something like SA6 will
probably feel more balanced.

  1. Still looks fancy

This kind of contradicts one of my previous points. While there are no
waifu engravings, you are still wearing weird looking vinyl disks in
your ears.

  1. Waste

I found the packaging for Timeless to be very wasteful. The give you
this low quality metal box for storing the IEMs, and this box is
really heavy (espetially when you compare it to the weight of the
IEMs). The box is also quite useless, since it is too small to use as
a storage box, but too large and heavy to use as a carry box. It is
basically a paper weight at this point. There was no need for this to
be shipped across the world. I just use a $3 KZ carry case when I am
on the go.

They also give you what seems like a completely random selection of
tips, none of which were a good fit for me.

I wanted to mention something else, but completely forgot what, when I
got to the end of this post. I will make sure to update it later

I own a set of Monarch Mkii and whilst they are clearly the superior set, I keep coming back to the Timeless and it never fails to surprise me as to how damned good it is.
Detail monsters but presented in a kind of warmish laid back manner that doesn’t jam that detail in your face.
I also own the S12 but that slight bump in the pinna gain makes them much more mid forward than the Timeless so not quite as relaxing.

You should retry the blue flange tips (08 (clones?)) they give some extra energy and punch to the mids that my CP100 doesn’t have. I wore 1 on each side for a week and they sounded pretty close but after awhile the CP100 just somehow felt less detailed and punchy if just slightly and also noticeably (again, took a week of listening to notice) scooped out lower mids.
CP100 sounds more laid back but 08 just seems to add crispness and body to the mids at the cost of some airiness/soundstage maybe. I stopped 1 side listening long ago since 08 was clearly giving me more audio enjoyment if at the slight penalty to comfort.
I used CP100 M and 08 L (yellow bore)
