Agreed, I found the blue tips that came with the Timeless to be the best for it. Those are Acoustune AET08 tips, and I liked them enough I bought some more to try on a couple of other IEMs.
They are indeed 08 but how can we distinguish if they are Acoustune AET08 or KBEAR 08 since they look practically identical.
Personally I bought a KBEAR to try since one of mine actually started separating at the join and breaks the seal unless itās at certain angles. Might get Acoustune as well if the KBEAR sounds notably different.
Edit: found this
By scrutinising the 08 pics real close I think KBEAR is left and Acoustune is right because the seam where the colors touch is slightly blurry on the KBEAR compared to Acoustune and comparing against mine they seem to also have that blur.
Might just be manufacturing tolerance or my imagination too
That is interesting, and good to know. I ordered the Acoustune and I canāt really tell the difference between what came with my Timeless and the Acoustune tips I got. Of course not having both for comparison, I wouldnāt know either way.
Interesting. The acoustune tips werenāt my favorite, but I may have to revisit sometime soon.
This ^ I recently went back to the Timeless and I can confirm, they had a special sauce about them that give them this character over the Monarchs, a set nearly 5 times the price. Plus, the timeless are so ridiculously small and light compared to the Monarchās they practically disappear in my ears. I genuinely didnāt appreciate the comfort enough.
I will try it again, but my main issues were with fit (wonāt seal right, wonāt stay in the ear, or would be just uncomfortable)
I hope BGGAR rank s12 to compare with Timeless. Other reviews consider S12 better or much better.
His recent under $300 ranking he knocked the Timeless over the QA issues, which is a personal issue with the KZ collab issues for him. Actually that ranking had the Hana v2, S12, and the Sony XBA-N3AP as the top 3 under $300, with Kato and Hekili in the mix. The āAā Tier included Tea, Timeless, Starfield, and Olina, but I think that was a move to not over-rank his own set. It also shows how many good sets have come out because Tea used to be the best under $300, for quite a while and by a large margin.
ābestā is a strong word lol
In his usual ranking of the drive. puts timeless in category A+. The s12 mysterous does not appear. The kato, for example, gives it a B+.
The problem is that in that same table the hana (which he put in his last video as S) is on par with the TEA in his drive ranking.
It amuses me that the ikko oh10 is also with B+.
I do not understand.
I am talking about the video he put out this week. It was a tier list and ranked them within each of the tiers. His rankings on google drive havenāt been updated in months. That video included at least 3 IEMS that are not on his rankings list at all.
Ikko OH10 is very polarizing, since it is very V-shaped. Between the weight and that fairly brutal 5k peak, I canāt see them being something I wear for longer than an album, which rules them out for my collection, but I know some people love them.
Yes, I remember him saying he takes a point away on olina because it is his set.
Oh10 as Yume get me curious: everybody say they are good, but Iām afraid they wonāt please me at all. Yume is interesting because of its mids, but the lack of technicalities will certainly put me off. The oh10 seems to be a great set, but I great the bass quantity as Iām ābass sensitiveā.
Yume are another set that people seem to have mixed feelings about and the original never really got any traction here, but I think because there were other sets that that were a better value. The $170 for standard Yume, with the weird bass, and $200 for Midnight, which fixes the bass.
At that price point, you are competing against some really good sets, like Kato, S12 for less, for much less Olina, not to mention Timeless which isnāt much more.
My replacement KBEAR 08 L finally arrived and I can finally not use an eartip with a broken air seal. Made my channel imbalance worse than it was with the broken eartip but nothing a little more tissue didnāt fix. Iām certain Timeless comes with KBEAR 07 and 08 tips now but still have no idea what the silicone cylinder eartips are
Iām still awaiting to see if anyone can figure this out. Those translucent cylinder tips are to this day the best tips I use on my Timeless as well on my Mon MKIIs.
Iām almost too ashamed to admit I thought those tips were a bad joke and threw them out (am I on candid camera?). Wish I hadnāt!
Donāt worry, man. I thought the same. When I initially tip rolled the timeless I didnāt even try them. Ended up going with Azla tips I got online. 5 months later I decided to do some tip rolling and tried them for the first time and holy sh- ā¦ Iāve been rocking them ever since.
Iāve always wanted to try these. Any idea where I could find a legit set?
Got my first white set from Amazon UK 18/11/20 and a second (no white) black set again from Amazon UK 25/10/21 these are the closest tips to the OG silicones that come with Z1Rās
