šŸ”¶ 7HZ Timeless Planar

I’m claiming that dongles aren’t putting out enough power to adequately drive the Timeless. Perhaps volume wise but not in terms of SQ.

New here but thought I’d introduce myself in this post as the Timeless is what I’m currently waiting on arriving.

I ordered mine on Hifigo on the 6th Sep, shipped on 13th Sep, left China airport on 16th Sep… I’m in the UK so hopefully have them by the end of next week.

I’m looking forward to these and hoping they’ll gel well with the L&P W2. I’m pretty much a Shure house tuning guy and found that I actually prefer my Aonic 5’s with the W2 to my SE846’s. I’m hoping the Timeless will fill in for the 846’s but with a bit more treble and sparkle. On a listening test the Aonic 5’s extended further both ends of the spectrum to my ears over the SE846’s with no noticeable decrease in details/technicalities that makes the SE846’s worth keeping for me.

If the Timeless can give me a mix of the Aonic 5 extension and liveliness with a touch of the SE846 lushness I’ll be happy.

how many mW output power needs the Timeless in your opinion

EQ is a very common and requested feature on DAPs.
There are many EQ apps on Android, one that comes to mind is Wavelet.

The DTR1 is still pretty weak and does not have balanced output, something I see as especially beneficial for planars.

I don’t have an exact figure, but as much power as possible without hiss creeping in is good.
Anything below 1W wouldn’t sit well with me in regards to planars.

1000 mW out  Nice . The Timeless is really an easy driveable iem

It’s sensitive for a planar. Planar transducers respond differently to more power than dynamics or BA. Planar is a resistive load, meaning the transducer wants to not move and reset to neutral position. It’s only with high current that it can move accurately.

Also BTR5 as well. @11_Clouds has the S9 Pro, and BTR5. If I am not mistaken he said it is enough for them.

I don’t think you need 1W to power them. They are not P1 level.

I agree, this is way easier to drive than P1.

Yes only issue was the S9pro at high volume so I do suggest a unit that has power, although no issues with the Stargate Dongle

Anyone used these with qudelix 5K? This is my plan.

If the BTR5 can drive it the 5K can as well. (same output power)

Mine will arrive next week…I think these set need proper break in beside need power…50 hours minimum for driver and 200 hours for cable…better use another cable not stock cable unless wait for 100-200 hours for break in…and proper seal to get low impact
