Lol I have that mini keyboard for use with one of my Linux mini PCs I use instead of a cable box or smart tv/dongle.
Damn out of hearts for the day. Sorry.
The mini keyboard klicks are so pronounced. I love it!
Mine workā¦ also I do see (well hear) what you are Riku are talking about. It is almost like the timeless wants to get the imaging correct, but it is all just off so it kind blobs in space and doesnāt quite sound like it is where it should be.
Also that ASMR is quite odd and I am not sure how I feel about what the bearded man is doing to my ears.
Oh! Youāre not a big ASMR guy? I listen to ASMR all the time. I love it. That odd feeling youāre getting from the video is what youāre after. If you sit back and relax, it might give you tingles or calming sensations.
It is weird. Completely unique. Personally not to my liking. I call it ācompressedā imaging and stage.
I listen to āunintentionalā ASMR like wood working and things like that more then someone specifically doing ASMR like him.
And yes after switching to the 2 IEMs I use the most for VR Final e500 and Dunu EST 112 the motion around the mics sounds ācorrectā again
This thread has become an absolute embarrassment to HiFiguides.
Nobody wants to wade through posts of people trolling each other in a thread with an item title.
Been sitting back for days quietly.
If threads devolve like this it is bad for the site IMO.
This is Reddit B.S.
Maybe an official members lounge thread?
My image of this place is itās THE place to go,
to have a real discussion about gear, the kind that attracts viewers and members.
Not threads run by Companies and their shillsā¦and not turned into a place where owners have to even think about getting bombed for their viewsā¦thatās Reddit.
I finally have the SpinFit and AZLA tips on hand. The latter do make them stick out a bit more, and I can feel it more, but they do seem to have a better seal.
ifi Zen DAC v1(used as the dac for both units), power match and truebass turned off at 11-12 oāclock, and xDuoo TA-10 at about 60, both using the balanced out.
Using DDOS, Full Bodied, Queen of Knives, and Gods of the Artificial by Ghost Data along with Bloodlust by Geoxor to try to find bass
The spinfits seem to hold a more controlled bass, where as on the azla itāsā¦ bigger.
Iāll do more comparisons tomorrow after I get home from work. As it is, Iām a bit tired.
Edit: I may find I notice the AZLA in my ears more(not in an uncomfortable way, even with them being the L), but I feel more discomfort from the SpinFit once I take them out, if that makes sense.
I hear you bro it does seem a lot of IEM threads turn into a kindergarten pantomime lately so weāll look into sorting something
IEM imaging is Imaging (b grade, psychoacoustic manipulated variations of shit to impressive)
Headphone imaging is actual back of ear, front of ear above/below
Using Chesky i can follow further and the front is almost full with dead center just in my imagination.
IEM are worse in virtual forward and much worse than headphones to virtual rear where the rear actually sounds above more than rear.
My 2 cents
Right I had a very busy day yesterday and yes I have to sleep and have to wake up to find a few of you have turned my official thread into a chimps tea party I agree 100% with what Chris @hawaiibadboy said aboveā¦so take this as a warning - ANYMORE OFF TOPIC BS WILL BE REMOVED WITHOUT ANY WARNING -
I do.
We were discussing IEM imaging though not headphones. As Iām sure you know, different IEMs image differently.
Timelessā¦
is the most compressed and undefined IEM I have heard when it comes to imaging.
Gotcha.
I never thought any headgear places stuff dead center front or rear. I was tripping on the graphic I guess.
I edited what @nymz posted in an attempt to help people understand what I was hearing when it came to the stage shape, compression and location of where I hear the audio within the stage. Nothing surrounds me, there is very little to no depth etcā¦ All the stuff Iāve said a million times in this thread wrapped up in a little diagram for visuals.
IEM, not headphone.
Soundstage is probably lowest on the totem pole for me when it comes to IEMs. Itās never going to compare to open backs / speakers, right? Does somebody have a list of best soundstage IEMs?
MEST OG or MKII
Elysian āXā
EJ07 (original)
Cheers. Might have to try the EJās next to hear what Iām missing out onā¦
Well after 2 weeks solid usage and the Timeless being left running 8hrs a day for several days as well i can say that the imaging has improved.
No. its never going to win awards for this but i can only report what my ears are hearing.
Now Iām not a believer of burn-in except for trad cone speakers and certainly not iems so maybe its ear burn-in Iām experiencing?
Its still an odd presentation (i get the high frequencies in front and above - kinda like an arc over my forehead - all the mids are still middle of my head and the bass is sort of down at the base of my neck) but its definitely better defined than the amorphous blur i got from initial listening.
Its not super pin point or anything like it but i can more clearly locate individual instruments better
I need to try some further tracks but this was what i got from last nights session
So maybe someone can also leave them running 24/7 for a week and see if they hear any changes for the sake of my sanity
Either way i like them enough to be ordering another set when they are back in stock.
Its not perfect (what is!) but its the benchmark that all future planar iems are going to have to beat thats for certain.
And at the end of the day, variety is the spice of life right !
@Ohmboy , sorry about the mess.
Iāve been thinking about this for a while and, to avoid further spamm or ball throwing on official threads and reviewersā threads, is it ok to create an IEM lounge on this sub-forum (iem - others or something) just to throw balls around and talk about IEM related stuff?
Something inside the guidelines ofc, just to throw balls around, no drawbacks to official threads or reviewers?
Thanks
