Strange how Zeos found the K371 less enjoyable than the K361 according to the graph.
Oluv, too. Max Settings, too (I think). I havenāt heard either of them but prefer the pricing on the K361!
That 7 to 10 KHz peak is M50X territory. Itās very audible, so if anybody is sensitive to treble peaks, run to the hills.
And thatās for the K371ā¦ the K361 has a, like, 10dB peak right where the cymbals are (10khz-ish). Thatās probably worse. Yes, I was f*cking hearing it in todayās Zeos sound demo too.
Seems the Harman Curve may not actually be what most humans like to hear lol.
Maybe itās an āaverageā of āgood earsā and āold ears unable to hear well above 10khzā.
So us āyoungstersā suffer.
There seems to be a Bluetooth version of the K371 and K361 newly released (not that the originals are that old). It seems a bit odd to me to release a separate version so soon, let alone have a bluetooth verson of a headphone marketed towards studio use.
From comparing with the non-bluetooth 361, it looks like the differences are:
- add 41g of weight
- add $30 cost
- add BT5 (no mention of aptX)
- up to 24 hours battery life (claimed)
- Wired listening still an option
- on paper specs seem to stay the same (frequency response, sensitivity, impedance)
30 dollar cost difference is really nice. Iām quite curious about it
For only a 4g difference in weight increase, there is a big difference in rated battery life difference between the two new bluetooth models (up to 24 vs 40), also, I question if sound quality will be effected, or how well the controls will be implemented.
Right, I think the sound quality difference is always the main question. How will they compare to the cable counter parts. Specially since in the past the cabled ones have still been better, but the Bluetooth versions of headphones are usually considerably more expensive. Which is surprisingly not the case here
Iād go with the 371-BT for the less plasticky build, for something portable.
+1 point if Zeos doesnāt find the BT version of the 371s weird (plugged or not).
Thatās if he gets a pair to bother reviewing. Personally, from the rather short time Iāve spent with the 361 and 371, I liked the latter a bit better. Like stated earlier, Iām interested in how the rest of the headphone comes together. I also would have rather lost the 3m coiled cable rather then the 3m straight. I can at least braid the 3m straight.
Maybe theyāre selling so much they decided to make a bluetooth version fast to sell even more units.
I own the K361 and I was interested in the K371-BTs but I found on the bhphotovideo dot com pre-order page for the K371-BT the ākey featuresā stating that they support āAAC, SBC Codecsā.
Hence I am actually not interested anymoreā¦ I own the BTR5 and ES100 BT-dongles and Phones/DAPs with LDAC, aptX-HD etc. and will not buy any AAC/SBC-only BT-device anymore.
Thatās sad to hear, those two codes really are lacking tbh. There dies the hype for the Bluetooth versions
AAC isnāt amazing, but it is better than Mp3 format. Generally higher quality than Mp3.
I donāt wanna be that guy lol, but the thing is i generally mostly have FLAC files. and ive heard both aac and sbc and frankly both were dissapinting. sbc was super compressed sounding and aac was a bit smoother but still lack luster and lacked dynamic range (and since itās just a codec itās mp3 renders sound better than sbc to say itās better than mp3 is slightly incorrect)
Aac Bluetooth aināt bad but itās not great, itās a bit better sounding than aptx but not as good as aptx hd or ldac
Once you go LDAC you donāt go back (except maybe aptx hd, heard good things about it!) LDAC gang gang
Yeah FLAC is what I have on my audio player mostly, although I do have some mp3 and ogg files mixed in there too. FLAC just soundsā¦ fuller? Bigger? Kind of hard to explain but I can definitely hear a difference.
