I finished the first season of mob psycho 100 last night. So far so amazing. It’s very much the kind of quality writing like in one punch man. While I find OPM to be more funny, MP100 is possibly the better show. The animation is just great. It has this intentionally choppy, unnatural, and exaggerated movement that majes the action feel so wild.

Mob psycho 100 is amazing and it only gets better in season 2. I can’t wait for the final season, hopefully they can keep up the quality and direction they have had so far.

If only opm hadn’t switched directors and studios for s2. Hopefully they bounce back for s3 but I have doubts. Atleast the Manga is still amazing

S2 for Mob psycho 100 was one of the best during its season. Was fukcing amazing and the animation is so unique i love it.

s2 is better. @Towa nailed the description. I don’t mind the tropes. Definitely tamps down on them in the second season (not as bad as the first). Worth watching solely for the animation and world building.

Right now I’m still just catching up with older stuff. The only show that I’m watching as it airs is fire force. It’s no citizen Cain when it comes to writing but my god the animation is beautiful. I also really like a lot if the music and sound affects.

I started watching no guns life and overlord and so far I like them both (only 1 or 2 episodes in for both). No guns life is the more interesting to me so far since I like a good blade runner type esthetic and story but overlords still seems fun.

Also I’ve been reading JoJo’s bizarre adventure part 6 and 7 since its going to be a while until they are animated. Part 6 was really fun. It was basically exactly what I expected from the jojo series, great art, fun characters, great (if sometimes convoluted) fights, and a few emotional moments. Not perfect but worth the time it takes to read. I’m only a but into part 7 but it seems to be even better. The horse racing is surprisingly intense and I’m loving the characters that have been properly introduced so far.

I’d rather watch older, classic stuff instead of watching new stuff that can be just “okay” (I’m not implying new stuff is bad, I just would not watch 50 different animes from 2019 just out of curiosity, for example).

Some classics: Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Ergo Proxy, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Hellsing Ultimate, Macross Plus, Outlaw Star, Samurai X OVA (Trust and Betrayal), Akira, Ninja Scroll, Princess Mononoke.

(Apparently I need to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain, Code Geass, Ghost in the shell… maybe The Big O and Escaflowne.)

I’ve really enjoyed the 10 or so episodes of cowboy bebob I’ve watch so far. Great soundtrack as well. I also need to catch up on the classics as well.

especially in the 2005-2008 era of anime full of great shit that really establishes a lot of what we have now. but I will say good stuff comes out every season you just gotta filter through a lot of not so great. mainly because we have so many more options as anime streaming is so easy these days compared to the past. but when youve watched most of the classics already all you really have left si the new stuff and the few classics in the backlog that are just daunting to look at like “Legend of Galactic Heroes”

I keep forgetting to watch spice and wolf. Maybe I’ll try to remember to start it tomorrow. I just never go on funimation so I always forget.

No Rurouni Kenshin love, huh?

I know I need to watch season 2+ of attack on titan, but that show creeps me out too much so its a perpetual back burner, as for others, I cant believe I ended up liking it, but haiyaku! Is pretty damn good for a jump style anime. SAO progressive will be interesting, but I think the author may have effed himself on it so if the writing is good at first, but turns to crap like GOT I will be pissed :frowning: … Danmachi is a guilty pleasure since ive basically read all English translated LNs but I know its not always great writing. Season 3 should be this fall/winter.

“Trust and Betrayal” is the best thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life…

/been rewatching Flying witch probably one of the more underrated slice of life anime’s I really miss the wave of slice of lifes that happenned before the current isekai wave. the animation quality is pretty great for what it’s trying to accomplish and doesn’t have that bland sheen lower budget fantasy anime has for some reason these days that I hate.

Recently finished “Psycho-Pass” season 3 + the “Psycho-Pass: First Inspector” movie, which really should be considered part of season 3, and it’s finally at the point where I can lower my rating from the 10/10 of the first 2 seasons down to about a 9/10, maybe 8. It’s still deeply philosophical about what justice means or what a well-governed/happy society means, despite the violent hard-scifi/detective/action/thriller at the surface, but this season it took way longer to get to its point about the justice system and only did it in the post-season movie and didn’t take any time exploring it in the least bit. (Without the movie, season 3 is mostly pointless and fails to connect to what the first 2 seasons were doing in any way that would justify it as a continuation.)

Still on my to-watch list:
- Ghost in the Shell: Arise Alternative Architecture (I’m choosing to believe whoever said it’s a better version of the “Arise” 4-episode OVA)
- Mushishi season 2, a.k.a. “The Next Chapter”
- Fate/Stay Zero, Night and Apocrypha
- FMA Brotherhood (only seen the original)

Seems that way at first, but as the episodes go on I start to get the feeling it’s the build-up to something much better. Unfortunately it never gets to the “much better” in the current release, but for now I will still #believe.

Weellll, some might argue that the 1995 GitS movie is “Peak GitS”.

Completely forgot season 3 came out. I should really watch it I was saving it for a good weekend and didn’t watch it while it was coming out so I could Bunge but ended up forgetting about it. I loved the first 2 seasons

Yeah, I might have forgotten about it too, but it jumped out at me when I subbed to the Amazon streaming thing, and I immediately added it to my watchlist, and postponed my unsubbing until I could watch this thing. Thought I would just watch The Expanse and Picard in the discounted first 6 months and then unsub, but apparently these bastards had more to offer than I had expected.

anyine watching THE JOURNEY OF ELAINA this season. if not I reccomend the try if youve watched kinos journey this might be up your alley has a similar premise but instead of following a paeceful gunslinger adn her motorcycle your following a young witch. pretty well animated and compelling as well one of the only anime worth following this season so far.
